Since there is a large majority on here that are anti-Obama, who would you like to have had as president instead...

Colin Powell comes to my mind...How about the rest of you?
 
Quite frankly no matter who would have been elected they would not have done much better. I believe it will take the following to get out of this mess.


  • Patience by the electorate and elected. No quick fixes.
    Republicans and Democrats should STOP THE FINGER POINTING and GET TO WORK and WORK TOGETHER.
    Fiscal responsibility by Congress and the Administration now and forever.
    Once out of this hole, follow rules to never let it happen again.
    As the people who elect these people, hold their feet to the fire and operate within their means for after all we have to do that. If not, elect someone that will.
 
Huckabee and Romney as VP. With this ticket, the Republican party would have been unbeatable. Unless people disliked Romney's religion.

And BTW, I'm not anti-Obama.
 
Ron Paul pres. Huckabee VP or visa versa .

Other improvements could be Polosi replaced by Lady Gaga .Harry Reed replaced by one of the eight dwarfs probably "Stupid" would be an up-grade .

Ya know in hind sight I keep thinking back to Ross Perot.
 
Actually, that's a tough question. Generally speaking, I would have to say anyone BUT someone who really wants to BE president. Really, who would really want that job except for someone looking for a power and ego trip?

I like Nader, But he has f-ed the car world up for us so I would have to pass, I can just see V8s getting outlawed:lmao:
 
No one in the last run made a big impression on me. Of course anyone, even no one would have been better than the fascist we have in there now.

I’m hoping that the events since the election will have lasting positive effects on the direction we’ve been on. We are already beginning to see new candidates running that offer a lot more conservative thinking than what we’ve seen in a long time. Both parties have been infiltrated by people with ideas and agendas that are far from what made this country great. Maybe the UN partisan Tea Party movement can pull us back on track before hope of that being done peacefully is gone.

There are some current governors that show some promise, Jindal of LA and Danials of IN might be a good start.
 
We need someone who is not a politician. That's why Ross Perot was so appealing at the time he ran. He was someone who could get things done but was not "owned" by Washington. It would have been interesting to see how he dealt with the opposition (Senate and Congress). Perot had made the statement that "no one who's qualified for the job would want it". That appears to hold true today. I'm sure that there are much better qualified people in the United States than the lousy selection we had to choose from the last few go rounds. Any takers?

Shoot, almost any business person, given the leeway and not fettered by congress (that ain't gonna happen BTW), could do a better job with the economy than most any politician! Politicians are generally the "elite", spoon fed types that have never really had to earn a living for much longer than maybe a military enlistment and a college job.

As for Perot, Amen!
Although the little rat on acid's attitude and radical thoughts would probably have gotten us into a nuke war before his term was over, he did have some great ideas on the economy and how to bring the country out of the funk it was in.

Since he didn't "need" the money, I assume it was the "power" he wanted.

I voted for him, but wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it again.

In his heyday, I'd have loved to see Jesse Ventura as a candidate. A man that knows and speaks his mind (when he's not out of it) and doesn't really care whose feeling it hurts.

Again, the congess is always going to be a problem. That and partisan politics!:thumbsdown:

I'm not sure I'de really want a true conservative, any more than I want a true liberal.

I'd rather have someone who can see the issues for what they are, not add thier own agenda, be it political, religious, or financial, and determine the best course for the country and it's people.

A little radical thought provokes change. Some change, although we as human beings tend to resist, is good. Too much or too much too soon, not so good.

No change...not good at all....we reach "status quo." In other words, we go nowhere!
