So I got my first speeding ticket today. 92 in a 70 zone on I4. Accelerated to pass a truck, and when I took my foot off the gas to slow down I saw a pair of headlights on the side of the road come on. :banghead:

Anyway, the fine is $264, so more delay on getting what is supposed to be the daily driver back on the road. I have this funny feeling that I'm going to regret not running. :banghead:

The only time Id think of ever trying to outrun a cop is if Im already at a high rate of speed and hes in the opposite lane......or if Im in a county where I know the radio never talks to a helicopter. Why I looooove gps :rofl1:

Quite truthfully, I didn't have to even go any faster than I already was. I was going 90, and was a mile from my exit. All I had to do is maintain speed and I would have been off I4 before he even got on the road. Going 60 in the right lane it took him a long time to catch up.

But yea, a detector and/or jammer might be a good investment. Thing is, it was my fault because I know that there is a cop where he was cause there is always one there. It was dark and wet and I pulled out from beside that semi a little too early.:hehehe:

Anyway, I believe that I can take the driver improvement course since I wasn't going 30 over. The cost of the ticket doesn't worry me, but those points do.:banghead:

I think you can take an 8 hour course to get the points withheld from your record. Call your local courthouse and ask. I did my course online. I would have gotten 100 percent except their answers were wrong on three of the questions. No lie.... :banghead:

Probably a good thing you didn't try to run if the roads were wet. Winding up wrapped around a tree or with the car sitting upside down in a ditch wouldn't have been much fun. And then you'd REALLY be in trouble as well has having a broken car (and maybe neck).

I always would break 100 on the Seven Mile Bridge if traffic was light but I quit thinking sooner or later I would get caught. I must be getting old! :shrug01:
