• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

Zo6 being chased down by a C6 Z51

"Done on a course, where fastest student of the class is in the Zo6, and the instructor is in the C6. The instructor catches up in like 2 laps.
www.fldatawiz.com/C6CatchesZ06.wmv"

Z was smok'in him in the straights, the C6 was catching him in the turns.........Driver:thumbsdown:

How come that front wheel is turning in reverse like that in the second video? :thinkin:

And where the heck can I get a digicam mount for the inside of my car? Been looking around but so far can't find anything........

I see it happen all the time at the drivers-ed events where a better driver is in a slower car who catches and passes the faster car. The video doesn't show the instructor passing the student, just catching him under braking and approaching the turns. I doubt he ever passed the Z06 because it just leaves him standing still down the straights. :shrug01:
I'd like to see some of the forum members come out to the local road races. You might get hooked and start tracking your cars.:dancer01:

Actually...

Ive been thinking about doing that very thing!

I'd rather learn the ropes and get a bit of experience under my belt, before I go and do something I may regret (Racing).

Hey RichZ

I asked the guy that posted the vids and here's his reply...

"That's my camera doing the work.

I use a 3CCD Panasonic PV-GS150 for all of the in-car work and a Sony DVD based 1CCD cam to connect to a remote bullet cam for the out of car work. The Panasonic does GREAT work. These videos are VERY LOW QUALITY for fast downloads. The originals are to die for as is a DVD version.

I get my bullet cam, mounting gear and other stuff from www.chasecam.com"

He's also a FL. resident, so I envited him to stop by the forum!

Why don't you give yourself a really nice Christmas present and come to our driving school. Then you could join us at any of the local driving events and participate with your new found knowledge. We have track support and just about any part you might need to keep you on track should anything wear out or brake. We usually have 8 to 10 Corvette's at most events, and they all started just like you.:crazy03: We even have our own Corvette Corral!

sgsvette

It'll be after the Holidays for sure.

I gotta work for my $:hide: :brick2: :lmao:

We have an event at Homestead on Saturday the 30th that you could come and see what goes on. It won't cost you anything except the fuel for the drive. You have an open invitation, as so does any other forum member who would like to come out. Lots of fun! Hang out with the biggest local Corvette Race Team and see what really goes on at the road races.:)

Thanks for the invite!

We were almost "there" until my wife reminded me of other obligations we have, at the end of the month.:banghead:
We'd definately like to check out one of your events, just can't this month or in Feb.

I really liked watching how the wheels would spin clockwise, look like they stop and then look like they were spinning counter-clockwise in the second video.

Another option for YNKEDAD that would be less expensive if he/she would use their own car is the local chapter of NASA (National Auto Sport Assn.) which is affiliated with the Performance Driving Club (PDC). The web site is drivenasafl.com

I believe the cost for the school is about $250 per day (Sat or Sun). Sebring, Moroso and Homestead are the tracks visited by this club.
