SPAM blocking....

Please check with your ISP to see whether they may be blocking this site and others on you without your knowledge or permission. I've been getting some bounce back emails lately indicating that this site is being blocked by some ISPs. If these messages are being blocked, there is no telling what other messages your "friendly" ISP may be blocking from you as well. Maybe something important that they mistake for being SPAM.

This is a prime example of the "cure" being every bit as bad as the "disease". Especially when you have a braindead spam blocking routine being used.

Just a note here that if you have Comcast as your ISP, your email notifications from this site ARE being blocked. I've been trying to work with them to figure out why and get this resolved, but the only people I can seem to be able to reach are basically useless. No one seems to know how to fix anything and don't know who to go to in order to do so.

I've got Comcast myself and I'm getting right irritated at them. But I'm REALLY out in the boonies and don't have any other alternatives for broadband.

BTW, this is not my only site/server this is happening to, and I've heard other people complaining as well. It appears that Comcast went to some new spam blocking system that is screwing up everyone.

I know mine was doing it for a while so I changed to a gmail adress,

We have the same problem Rich. Any public site is ripe for the spammers to "steal" your IP for there spam. We get over 500 "undeliverable" messages that are spam to every country on the planet daily. Or IT guy is working on a solution now as it automatically puts you on many ISP's spam block.

In many cases the spam blocking is every bit as bad, or even worse, than the actual spam itself. Spam is going to TRY to look like legitimate email! They certainly aren't going to make it easy to block. So blocking mechanisms are going to be either ineffective, or block out a lot of REAL email at the same time.

Not sure what the solution is, but public flogging of convicted spammers comes to mind....
