Yeah, it's a ring-necked snake (Diadophis punctatus is the latin name, I believe). Completely harmless and they only get about 15 inches long.

In some areas they can be VERY common. But I don't see them very often in Florida. Used to find LOTS of them when I lived in Maryland.
