140k on the old Gal

Mannings

New member
 Well I watched with PRIDE today as the old Gal (1999) rolled over 140,000 miles, all mine.

Thanks RevXtreme for keeping the wheels turning and Cars Art for keeping her looking like new.

Minor stuff like any vehicle, the big one's were:
Clutch @ 105k
Paper blockers in tranny @110k (full rebuild)
Radiator @ 120k
Water pump @ 125k

Still runs like new  on my 5th set of Nitto 555's

Man that's great. Not trying to be nosy but is it using oil yet? I have an '03 with 45,000 that I plan on keeping forever so I'm just curious. I change the oil when the dic says to.

Trust me, I have seen it all. Those ls1's and ls6's can take a lickin and keep on tickin, Im never surprised and always impressed.

But your car looks way better than most with those miles and thats for dang sure

I'd loose a quart between changes when it was newer. Today maybe 1/2 guart between changes. I use the same change indicator as you.

PS, daily driver 60 miles round trip on I75 and some spirited driving almost daily.

Mine has not used a drop. Amazing with the amount of racing I do. Looks like you've got a real winner there. You ever been to a fair and they would try and guess your weight? If they came within x lbs of your weight you lose. Otherwise you win. You could make a lot of money with your car. Guess the mileage within 10,000.

That's really good to hear. What should be the upper RPM limit with a stock LS1. I've always been curious but never asked anyone. :shrug01:

Good to hear! These cars were made to be enjoyed!

Yeah, I've heard several impressive stories about the longevity of these engines....
