Golfers?

Bob K

Deceased
Hey all,

Have we got any members around Palm Bay that play the game called golf? I'm kind of new to the area and I need a golfing buddy. I don't care what your handicap is, mine is about 18 depending on the day and I'm not intimidated by a scratch player. I consider that to be a learning opportunity and if you're worse than I am maybe I can help you. My only objective is to get out of the house and to have fun playing the greatest game on the planet.

Bob

Sorry Bob but I'm not old enough to drive a Buick or play Golf :).And yes I am handicapped .

Good luck and maybe I'll take up Golf later in life.

I play the game, but would need a calculater to give you my handicap, next time you are down this way, or I get up there, we will have to do a little hacking !!

The one and only time I played golf, I shot a 72! Then I moved to the second tee.......:rofl1:

I started when I was about 30. That's no excuse.

I am old enough but the last time I tried it my ball almost killed some one.:D

Me too. The guy sued me and the house insurance covered it.

When you moving over here?

Mr. Anderson, who said we have to keep score? :D

I've played but I spent so much time in the woods, the U.S. Forest Service offered me a job.:nonod:

On the other hand, I've recently taken up disc golf. Much less expensive, and I'm still outside getting some exercise.

You and my buddy Bruce. Disc golf; you got to be kidding me. :rofl1:

WTF is "disc golf?"

Frisbee with holes?:lmao:

You're close. They throw a frisbee at a target. It may be a mail box, light pole or any other object. Your score is determined by how many throws it takes you to hit the target. You advance towards the target using your landing spot from your previous throw. Is this giving you the idea?

Yeah, we did this as a kid. Never knew it had a name:lmao::lmao::thumbsup:

I didn't either until last summer. When I go up to Michigan one of my buddies will play golf with me but that's the only time he plays. He taught me frisbee golf but that's a game for sissies.

Mark, I didn't say a word about 'disc golf'. :rofl1:

No sweat Bob.:) I'm not into it big time like a lot of my friends. It was just something new to try. I've heard the same comments made about regular golf. Just to clarify though, it's not as simple as just throwing a frisbee. The courses are laid out very much like regular golf courses, although the distances are much shorter. You throw at chain baskets. The discs are not at all like frisbees except in shape. You can get discs that will slice, or hook, or fly straight, it depends on the shot you're faced with. It really does take a certain amount of skill and practice, just like regular golf. I'm sorry to say, I'm a lot better at disc golf than I ever was at regular golf.:nonod:
