I've been checking out the Velocity Channel's "Corvette Nation" reruns on Netflix, and mid-year Vettes mounted onto modern chassis, with all the comforts of home, seem to be the craze. I know that that series is a platform for advertisers, but an episode doesn't run without some hoopla about these modernized cars. Personally, one of the desirable aspects about these older cars is the antiquated technology behind them, and knowing what's in store with future models. If I want a car that's as comfortable as my living room, then that's another thing.

What's not to like about a 680 HP 55 Chevy! We WISHED we could find that kind of horse power back in the 70's-80's. As for the aerodynamics, unless you can rent Daytona, 80 mph is about all we can get away with on the roads now so even if it has the aerodynamics of a bread truck it would still be fun to drive with that kind of power. I love the sleek high tech cars of today but I still love the old classic iron too. I saw a video of a lowered 59 El Dorado last week and I told my wife I'd trade my CTS V for that in a heart beat. She said, "Really"? I can find plenty of CTS V's today, I CAN'T find many 59 Caddys today. They are a thing of American excess and beauty!

Heck, I don't mind looking at the old iron, but I really have no desire to own one. But 680 HP sure sounds sweet no matter what it is pushing.... :thumbsup:
I've been by there and even test drove a nice white 2 door Rubicon. But CarFax showed it has had two owners with only a few hundred miles on it, and they wanted too much money for that USED vehicle. Someone else bought it a few days later, so I guess that explains why they didn't bother replying to my emails about it. I sent them a list of the options I wanted on the 2016 Sahara and they never got back to me about that neither. So I just took my business elsewhere.
I also tried working with Quincy Dodge but the guy out there is just odd. When I mentioned about doing a trade-in, he said being the vette in and if we made a deal on it he would need to lock it up in his shop till the 2016 ordered came in. Excuse me? Then he copped an attitude when I told him no way and refused to discuss anything more till I would give him my phone number and address. :wavey:
So as seems par for the course in this area, I had to go out of state to buy a new car. The 2007 C6 Coupe was bought in New Hampshire and shipped down here. The 2009 C6Z was bought from a dealer outside of Washington D.C. and we drove up there to take delivery of that one. Matter of fact, my 2002 C5Z was bought out of Ft. Lauderdale. I guess the car dealers around here feel they have a captive audience or something.... Someone should tell them about that new fangled thing called the I-N-T-E-R-N-E-T. :hehehe:
