Might want to keep an eye on this one. My bet is that the forecast track is just a wild guess....

Makes me nervous. I was out of power 6 days from the last one. And my generator is STILL in the shop! :face_palm_02:

Yeah, it doesn't look like it will come into the Gulf, but originally they only used women's names for hurricanes because they were so unpredictable. Probably a good idea to keep that little bit of trivia in mind.

I saw a track that had the storm crossing Cuba and heading Northeast.
I always sleep in mind the old saying "Little boys who lie a lot usually
grow up to be weathermen"! I figure that most of those tracks are
nothing more than SWAG's, Scientific Wild Assed Guesses, anyway! :lmao::lmao:

Yeah, I enjoy getting into conversations with people who are adamant about this global warming stuff and the gloom and doom predictions YEARS from now. I just ask them WHO exactly are making these predictions, the same people who come up with our 3, 5, and 10 day weather forecasts? And how accurate are those forecasts? So they start sputtering about how this is different. Oh, so you are saying that the longer the time frame of their forecasts, the more accurate they will be? :face_palm_02:

Hmm, moving south now, and the forecast track has edged west, closer to Florida....

...but originally they only used women's names for hurricanes because they were so unpredictable.

I remember hearing the hurricane "people" added male names because women's rights activists claimed it was sexist to only name storms using women's names. :shrug01:

Well, it appears that some other groups must have complained because certain ethnic names were not included as well.

Wonder how long before the American flag can no longer be flown on American soil because ILLEGAL aliens find it offensive?

I believe that everyone on at least the east coast of Florida really needs to keep an eye on this situation. I'm calling TOMORROW to get someone to come out to look at the chewed up wiring on my standby generator.

Am I interpreting the colors/areas correctly when I say it looks like the area between Jax and Daytona might be spared the worst of this? Wishful thinking?

Man, I wouldn't bet the farm on it. The latest forecast is showing Matthew as brushing even closer to the east coast of Florida Thursday and Friday.

Looks like they modified that previous track forecast just a bit.

Now THAT'S not promising for my area. :hair_on_fire:

The local Publix is considering a shut down on Friday in anticipation of this mess.

Well, it's not looking any better from what I can see from the 5PM projection.... :nonod:
