• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

Headers?

coated headers will keep underhood temps down. i read an article where they tested uncoated versus coated. uncoated were 415*F, coated were 210*F. that's the biggest benefit. plus they will not discolor. stainless, if they get extremely hot, will turn blueish.

It's like 350 extra for coated so that is no biggie. Not sure how far i will go with mods. A extra 40 to 60hp may do it for me. The runflats don't grip as it is. So that is another pricey thing to take care of. Gotta pay to play.

Yeah man. You can go as fast as you are willing to pay for. Heck, a stock Corvette can get you in enough trouble with the law as it is.

Never mind the law! Spend too much $$$$ on go fast goodies and you'll be in trouble with the wife ......... which in most cases is WORSE than the law! LOL

Greg will also do new wires and plus while doing the headers. I am keeping the stock exhaust for now. Maybe add NPP later on.

3.42 is what comes standard in the z06s, and I'm happy with the way they pull. When you start getting into stiffer gearing, gas mileage will suffer, and you will find that the engine might wind up quicker than you like when you just want to cruise down the highway.

I guess it depends on where you believe you are headed with the car.

The first generation V's came with 3:73 gears due to the fact the car is 700 pounds heavier than the Z06 of the same year and there was no automatic transmission offered. Feels perfect to me, especially when I was running the 14 pound flywheel.
