Rain today

Been getting a nice steady soaking rain today. I'm sure the fruit trees are going to benefit from it.

But there appears to be a cold snap brewing for next week. Seeing a forecast low of 33 degrees on Wednesday (March 06) night. Hope that won't damage all the new growth and blooms coming out right now. Yeah, I know it's just a weather forecast but they could be wrong about how low it really goes, and it could drop below freezing. Normally they seem to over sensationalize their forecasts to get viewers, but you never know.

Yeah, we really should have fertilized the citrus trees a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how anyone gets anything done working a full time job. We are retired and STILL can't get evan half the stuff done we should be able to do.

We did get a little sprinkle today, but most of the rain moved north of us.

Seems to be a batch of rain heading in towards us from the west, but it will be a toss of the coin as to whether we actually get any right here on our land.

Been damned dry around here this month. My new personal weather station is showing only .14 inches of rain for the month, and .10 of that is not real. It is an artifact of originally setting up the PWS.

While I was testing it to make certain it would work in the location I had chosen for it, I had to go "full redneck" with my setup mounting..... :hehehe:

Had 1.30" this month. Took a 50 mile trip in the C6 Wends morn and rain always finds me when i take a longer trip in the C6.

I bet all the way thru June will be very dry.

We might be getting some rain next week, beginning on Sunday, but not holding my breath.

It does seem like the dry season is setting in earlier this year.

Damn... Checked on the tubs with the venus flytraps and sundews in them, and they went downhill FAST. I checked them just a day or two ago and they seemed fine. But today, quite a few of them didn't look so good. So I had to add water to them immediately. Some looked kind of crunchy, so I hope I didn't lose too many.

:face_palm_02:

Not bad today and working on another telescope.

The new Personal Weather Station is showing 3.13 inches of rain since last night with this storm system passing through, with more to come. The older system is only showing 1.54 inches, so as I suspected, that old rain gauge was choking up during heavy rains and not registering properly.

About time we got some decent rain around here. But heck, not all of the Spring rains at once!

Only had .50" here this AM.

Had three rainy days in Ft Myers since thanksgiving ,I'm in Maine on business April and May with a snow forecast for two weeks .

We just got another 0.54 inches of rain today.

I walked down to check out our temporary pond yesterday and was surprised to see it bone dry. I thought for sure it would have standing water with the box turtles playing in it.

Not rain, but this was Wyoming last week!
