Rain today

Nothing here but .50" last week. You must be 20" ahead of me already. I bet you get 50" more than i do this year.

Probably a pretty safe bet. We already have 21.43" of rain for 2022 so far. 11.15" of it in March alone.

Well, March is rounding out the month with 1.60" more rain today.

Total accumulated rain for March, 2022 = 12.75 inches

Total for 2022, so far = 23.03 inches.

Had around 4.5" since last Eve. So that was really needed. The last three Apirls have been very wet and that is odd as this should be our driest month. So around 5.5" total for March. Another round maybe Sat eve.

Maybe things have changed in the world such that you will be getting a more normal ration of rain each year?

When Connie and I first moved where we are living now, there was an extended drought situation, and all of the streams and rivers around here were nearly non-existent. Swamps were dry enough to walk through, which was kind of cool with all the cypress knees sticking out of the sand. Lakes and ponds were down to bathtub sized or gone completely, which had fish piled up in the center and easy pickings for cottonmouths and other predators.

So we go through cycles, apparently. Of course, the crazies will start claiming that the sky is falling, but the world is just like that. The universe is not in a static state that NEVER changes.

Just odd that the last 3 Aprils before this one we had way above normal rain but then very dry March's and May's. Not one drop of rain last March and around 6"+ this March. Plus already around 4" for this month so far.

We got 0.81" of rain today. Flood watch here through Wednesday night.

May is typically the driest month around here. Curious to see how it goes this year.

So much for that "flood watch"...

Not unless 0.02" of rain is considered as flooding.

Just watching some storms moving from the NW to SE evaporate right before getting to us, then reform on the other side.

So apparently we are moving into that magical time of year where this sort of thing happens quite often.

There is a substantial storm system heading here again from the northwest. I'm guessing that this one, too, will evaporate before getting to us, and then reform again on it's way to Perry.

May is dry most times. But in May of 1979 Tampa had around 17" in two days. 2009 was also a wet May.

Well, we did get some rain overnight from that storm system I mentioned earlier. 1.29" Saves me from having to water a group of citrus trees I was planning on today. :)

We got 1.25" more rain today to bring the total for Sunday up to 2.54".

Radar is showing more rain heading kind of this way through tomorrow.

We got 0.38" more rain last night. Radar looking a lot more gruesome than that while I was watching it. Lots of thunder and lightning but not as much rain as it looked like we could have gotten.
