Took another ride on the flatbed tonight:(

Alternator took a dump in 6pm Dale Mabry traffic!!! Battery got me to the Buick dealership on Hillsborough & Himes before the whole thing went kaput!

Andreh, my car is in your lot...again!

6PM DALE TRAFFICCCC!!
I would have had a panic attack.
Andreh will get it fixed fast:D

See you Saterday Gordon and Jim

Fortunately, I don't panic easily:yesnod:I was cutting across 3 lanes and into the turn lane like a MOFO...not endangering anyone, but if I were an on duty person and saw it, we'd be havin' a little talk:rofl1:

All the time, the engine loosing more and more power with each lane change (like 250hp is a big deal to start with!).

Just didn't want to come to a complete stop in the inside lane of Northbound Dale Mabry @ 6pm:NoNo:Thats gonna mess things up big time!

It could have been much worse (mechanically) and an alternator's not that big a deal:thumbsup:Come to think of it, the last time it was replaced (IIRC) was when I bought the car several years ago...and it was dead when I bought it.

It's lasted several years inh the Florida heat and underhood heat generated by the engine...I'm happy:thumbsup:

And it's a simple fix (and hopfully not too expensive:rolleyes:). If I had the time, I'd do it myself. But I don't and I have all the faith in the world in Andreah:thumbsup:

We have a wedding to attend at 3 on saturday and the reception at Sam Seltzers afterward. I won't make it up there (again:()

See you all soon.

Alternators

I don't know what year Vette you have but my '86 goes thru them like a knife thru butter. In the past 20 years I think I've replaced at least 5. Several years ago when it was still Discount Auto they offered a free replacement policy. I jumped on that and have never paid for another alternator since!!! In fact, the last time they didn't have the less expensive model and replaced it with a Delco!!! Needless to say they don't offer that anymore.....:nonod:

It's an 87 and this is the 2nd one in several years. Not a big expense but maybe I'll look at PEP BOYS or something. I think they still have the offer.

Good thing you got it off the road safely. At least now you know it wont go kaput on you for a while..... well, maybe.:shrug01:

Sucks to be you :D

Bradenton sounds like a good spot :dancer01:
Glad you got it back quick, and the rainy season is suppose to be over, so the leaks shouldn't be an issue for a while. :lmao:
