Believe I know that car from back in 1976
Fella out of Rome Ga, who moved to Cleremont, fl.
Randy somebody.
What I remember was he was a X Green Bret just home from Viet Nam.
The car was in primer when I saw it.
A likeable man, didn't know the first thing about custom work. But wanted badly to learn.
What I also remember was a police cheif of a small town stopped by to visit, and the car and owner was in front of the studio. The police cheif got out, walked over and stood there looking at this vette, commented it was the worse car he'd ever seen.
The owner's eyes got glossy......but not of tear's, of a look that could kill.
As it turned out, this Randy was a Congressional Metal of Honor GI.
He'd killed some 30 Viet Cong with his bare hands, and carried US Army paper work with him that stated if he'd got arrested by any law enforcement the agency was to immediatley contact the Army.
I'd read some week's later this Randy person had died in a plane crash over near Melborne, Beach.
