Seat memory

Hialeah boy
My seat memory is not working correctly. when I get in the car and insert the key in the ingnition the seat will start to go to the memorized position. but half way thru the transition it stops moving. I have to press the memory button about five times to get it to its programed location. everytime I press the memory button the seat will move about 2 inches and stop. if I use the lower side conrol on the seat it moves normal. please help.

See Nytro's post just above yours and check for codes. You will must likely have a few. Post again with codes if found. The process to diagnose is lengthly and a Tech-2 scanner is needed, but you can check some basic stuff like loose connections, water intrusion.

no codes found. and I check under the seat to see if anything was catching on the rails, but found wrong wrong.

Wow! No codes eh? Check routing of aftermarket wires, seat position sensors (on seat track) & connectors for looseness or fluid intrusion. If all is well, a trip to the repair shop is in order. There is a mulitude of steps to test the system and a Tech-II & SI manual are required.

I have a similar problem with my '06, except that it will work ok for three or four entries and the next time it moves a little and stops short of where it should end. I have not tried pressing the memory button to see if it moves further. Will give it a go.
