• Got the Contributing Memberships stuff finally worked out and made up a thread as a sort of "How-To" to help people figure out how to participate. So if you need help figuring it out, here's the thread you need to take a look at -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3581 Thank you, everyone! Rich Z.

  • Mike, welcome to the site!

I replied to the post you made in the forums and also moved it to what I think will be a better forum for it to be in.

Not sure what you are looking for concerning someone to lay down facts and opinions, but an engine knock isn't going to be Corvette specific. You just need to find any good mechanic that knows engines, no matter the brand.

    Good luck!
Well, found the site because of a need for SPEED of advice. Recently had to take my '81 to a local merchant because of proximity. Rebuilt card, headers, $$$, and then valve job, whicjh was farmed out to machine shop. Brought home and sounded great, etc. Came across an advocate of the breed who said there was a knock! Took back to shop 3/4mi and they said, "Yep. When you gonna take your car off lot. Well, I'm worried now having spent BOO-COUP BUCKS in past 2 months. I'm hoping to find somewhere close that will lay down the facts and options. Numbers match m(Bowling Green), paint great and interior super. Any help would be a great step forward on my first club day. Mike
Ken, man sorry to hear you are thinking about selling the Z. Upgrading or going onto something else entirely?

In any event, nope, you don't need anything from me to list it for sale. Anyone here can list all the classified ads they want for free. I don't hold advertisers (personal or commercial) hostage by requiring them to cross my palms with greenbacks. Have I posted something somewhere that led you to believe otherwise?
Hey my friend I am considering listing my 03 Z06 as a classified for sale. It seems I need your blessing to do so. Can you help?
Never been much into bikes myself. Seen a guy get hurt pretty bad on one when I was a kid and it left an impression. Guy broke his neck spinning out on some gravel and broke his neck when he hit the road somehow. Paralyzed from the neck down. I rode right by him right after it happened and it sends a chill whenever I think about it.

Keep your eyes peeled for the right car. I think there should be a good selection of them on the market now. When things got tough, apparently a lot of people sold them off when they hid hard times.

I'll let Connie know you guys said HI.

    Rich Z.
well with the idle issue i was a bit disapointed myself. and i did love that car. i did most of the work except build the short block and the technical stuff myself. now i want a vette without all the bad memories. even gunna a git rid of my 2002 explorer all wheel drive to get one. but then i ride my vulcan 900 custom special edition these days lol. tell the wife that kathleen and i said hi.
    Hey Chris!

Glad to see you are still kicking.

The blue C5Z is coming along pretty well. You may want to catch up in that huge thread about it. I documented every step of the way. I was VERY disappointed in what I found with my car when I drove it home from Aaron's shop with him saying it was "95% complete". So I worked on the car myself, and still had to have it worked on by the Chevy dealership when the drivetrain had a failure. But that's all in the thread I mentioned. -> http://www.corvetteflorida.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44697

Working on the tuning now, and I think I've got it at a REAL 95% finished (instead of a SGC 95%). Just loaded up a new tune I worked on today and ran a test drive and it's driving VERY nicely.

Hope you can find a nice Corvette for yourself. I think you really enjoyed your last one.

About the invite for a meet and greet, heck I don't have any pull with anyone around here for stuff like that. Apparently most people in this area didn't like the fact that I wasn't shy about telling it like it is with my experiences with Aaron Scott. But I just told it like it is, and screw anyone who doesn't like what the facts show. It is what it is.

Anyway, hope things are working out well for you.

    Rich Z.
Hey rich. I am finally back and looking for my next corvette. Aldo I am finally a general manager for burgerking in south wood. And invite you guys to come out one sat a month for meet and greets and possible shows. Just let me know. What ever happened with your twin turbo.
I posted under the Events section for our clubs Courtside Grill Show in May. However the original post and link have the wrong date. I see no way for me to edit my post, so I was wondering if you could change teh date to read May 12 and delete the link to the flyer. in the original post.
I would certainly do that for the sake of sharing the experience but it seems that the "fix" occurred simply when you changed servers.

*Update* I posted that fact subsequent to this (first) message 2 u.
Why don't you post the resolution in that thread? The purpose of that forum is to have things of this nature posted there so anyone else having a similar problem can maybe learn from your experience.
Well, at least it had ONE definite verifiable benefit.... Thanks for letting me know.
FYI- Immediately after your server change-out yesterday, I am able to upload without issue. Go figure! Happy Thanksgiving.
Beats me... I haven't used that section in ages. You might want to post that in the Feedback forum to see if anyone else has had issues. I'll try to upload something myself, but won't be till later on.
