I do understand your decision and respect your position about clubs.
It was unfortunate that a few from one club ruined it for others from another Corvette club. I had to mention what happened to us in Melbourne a couple of years ago as it flowed directly from the question from another member here if I was going to paticipate in the Melbourne show. It was the only way I could answer why I was not participating, AND, it was first and foremost, an honest answer. :thumbsup:
I understand Jack.
I'm sorry that happened to you. There's no call for it.
And FWIW- I know you're honest:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Nothing wrong with that!
We had something similar happen a few years back a local car show. The owner/host made an off color remark to/about the newer vette owners.
Pissed everyone off to no end and a lot quit attending.
He now has a very small show in a llittle parking lot down the road.
It has been the petty bickering and politics that's caused me to stay away from most clubs and organizations (both in and out of the vette world).
While I enjoy the comaraderie, the politics and attitudes made me feel like I was back at work :thumbsdown:
The same holds true for the websites.
I quit being a supporting member for the big commercial sites for much the same reasons.
I need to re-up my $$ here because I'm comfortable here, and most of the 'tudes and politics don't exist.
My trus hope is for everyones sake, and the sake of the hobby, that one day we all learn how to grow up and be big boys and girls, and quit snobbing the "others.":thumbsup:
