C6 Convertible problem

My C6 2009 Convertible started having a problem when I tried to open the top. I used to be able to put my weight on the tonneau to push it down and let the motor take over to close the tonneau completely.
I checked the partition and the buttons on the on the vertical part of the partition were snapped on, but I noticed the buttons on the floor (right next to the wall behind the seats) could not snap on because of the thick carpet, I wonder if this is the culprit.
If this problem is not simple for a DIY, does anybody know a good convertible top mechanic in the Coconut Creek, FL area?

I don't think its the carpet .IF it stops raining "IF" i'll go out and try to duplicate the procedure .
