Cape San Blas cloud time lapse video

Last week Connie and I were staying in cabin #6 in St. Joseph Peninsula State park on Cape San blas and I did this time lapse of clouds over St. Joseph Bay.

Pretty neat Rich! What was the picture rate?
1 picture a second?
Andy :wavey:

No, that was 1 frame every 10 seconds. If I remember correctly, the 3.5 hour battery only puts about 40 seconds of video in the clip, so I stitched together three clips for that one video.

I think the 10 second span gives a more dramatic look to the cloud movement than the 1 second span does. I haven't tried anything with a longer span yet, but I would probably want to have the camcorder on the AC adapter if I wanted to try it that way. I think the camcorder itself will only run 12 hours before automatically shutting off. Wish the camcorder I have would do skyfield time lapse. I've seen some of those on YouTube and the are really impressive looking. I'm thinking it would take a very fast lens (meaning expensive) as well as long exposures for each from to do that right.
