Hello My Friends,
Time to sell my 82 Coupe. Location is Greensboro North Carolina. This car is in outstanding condition with approximately 27,000 original miles. She has her own garage and I have never driven it in the rain. The only reason I am selling is because I am in the process of purchasing a 73 Corvette. So at this point I would prefer not to maintain two classic cars. But if it does not sell so be it. I am considering listing the car on E-Bay but thought I would list here first. Asking price is $16,000 firm which is about what I paid for the car a few years ago. Feedback concerning the car or my price point is welcome. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.Vin: 1G1AY8783C5118504
I purchased the car about three years ago from Streetside Classics in Charlotte NC. Mileage is about 27000 (original miles). I did get some information from the previous owner, a Florida resident, and he kept the car at his summer home here in North Carolina. He owned it for about 8 years and only put about 1,000 miles on it. He never had any issues with it except for an occasional dead battery from the car sitting over the winter.
Everything worked great when I bought it but I have put a pile of money into it to make her perfect. I have had all the work professionally done by reputable shops (Chevy dealer, local Classic car Shops, etc…). No BUBBA jobs. Below is the list of work I have had done. I have every receipt that I will pass along to the new owner if it sells. The shop manual and assembly manual will also go with the car. I still have the Goodyear Eagle tires that were on the car when I bought it. They look like new but are really really old. These have been replaced due to age but if someone buys the car they can have these tires.
New Wilwood brake calipers all around and stainless steel brake lines.
New power antennae.
New BF Goodrich tires two years ago.
Both front and rear bumpers removed and professionally re-painted. There were some minor surface scratches on the bumpers but nothing major. Now they are perfect.
New valve cover gaskets and transmission pan gasket. Had some very small leaks.
About a year after I bought the car the radiator developed a small leak. I had a brand new radiator installed.
I did not like the 85mph gauge so I sent the original speedometer to Red Line Clock & Gauge. They refaced to 140 mph the original speedometer and calibrated. So it is the original gauge just re-faced to show 140mph.
New wheel trim rings and center caps all the way around.
New upper and lower speedometer cables replaced (they were starting to squeak).
Air conditioning has been upgraded to newer freon and it blows really cold. Heat works great.
Every single item on this car works. Even the cassette player. Even the cruise control.
I believe the paint is all original except for the bumpers which I had re-done. The paint looks really good. I don't see any evidence of a re-paint but I am not an expert. Only a few tiny rock chips here and there. Nothing major. There is a very small rub spot about the size of a dime where the front bumper meets the body. I am guessing a previous owner had a bra on the car at some point. There is a small scratch on the left rear quarter panel next to the bumper. It was there when I bought the car. Personally I would never consider having this car painted. Overall it looks spectacular.
Crossfire runs great. I have never had a problem.
Any questions please reach out and many thanks to all for a great forum.
