ynkedad's "Go Navy"

Everytime I see ynkedad's sig I think of my old ship while I was in the USN . I thought I'd post a pic of my ship that I pulled off the internet and ask those of you that served in the Armed Forces if you have anything to share from your tour of duty

The first one is The USS San Marcos (LSD25) I served on for two years. The second one is The USS Fort Mandan (LSD21). Both were out of Little Creek, Virginia and I was aboard between 1965 and 1968

Virginia and I was aboard between 1965 and 1968

This was the ship I was on, The USS Carl Vinson CVN-70 1984 - 1988.


I worked the flight deck and Bubble (Waist Cats) launching aircraft.

The Navy is where I met My Wife (Soul Mate) of 20 + years, who also served, and was on the USS Sameul Gompers! Joining at the age of 17, It's where I "Grew Up"!!!
After that, I joined the Army National Guard out of Fort Hood TX. where I was a 63bravo (Light wheel mechanic).
