General BS forum I guess this will be for anything that would seem to be off topic in any other forum here. Just general shootin' the breeze kind of topics. |

Dark Out
My third night on the graveyard shift. I forgot how dark it is at 3:00 AM. Been awhile since I've been up this late

I slept we'll knowing you we're awake.
Yesterday I was in Eastport Maine and sun rise was about 4am.It's the most North easterly city in the USA.It's one of the greatest places in the early am.

I absolutely love working the night shift. I've been doing it for 10 years now. It's so quiet outside when the world (my world anyway) is asleep. Not to mention, I get better gas mileage.

I choose nights as a Deputy. More action and less suits (non-working LEOS)
Midnights were peaceful, but I hated the sunrise!

I was just getting to bed at that time.............
When I lived in Maryland, I used to work night shift. Kind of liked it, but I had trouble sleeping when the sun was up. I think I only got about 5 hours of sleep a day....

During the 1st gulf war, I worked midnight to noon. Sunrises in the desert can be beautiful. I kinda miss them.

I worked nights when I was in the Navy, I could deal with it back then. Like Shadow said, less suits, we could get more done. Now, I'm too used to dayshift, having kids and all, I'm lucky to get three, four hours sleep when they put me on nights!

It's actually my favorite part of the day. It's what comes after that I hate!
I need to borrow your thread for a minute. Gordon, is that place that sells police gear on Kennedy Ave. still there? I want to buy an INOVA flashlight, but on their site it's $175. I can buy it on LA Police Gear for $116.

Any idea if it's a good site, or whether you need to be a LEO to buy from them?
