Too much stress?????
Ok many may see things differently but IMO Urban Meyer needs to stop whining and either man up and resign for good or stay, but STFU! I'm already sick of hearing about it.
He's a good coach no doubt, but seriously, four million a year and he cant find any stress relief? Not to mention more money in the form of endorsements and bonuses?
So how did Joe P. and Bobby survive the stress for all the years they have been doing it?
Somebody needs to take the blinders off this guy and let him see what's going on in the real world, real people with real stressors.
And no I'm not anti-sports; I have been coaching athletics since 1983 and sent many players to college, but c'mon already.
I know what he has done for Florida, blah blah blah. You're up and you’re down, good coaches know how to regroup and contend again. Look at Mike K. @ Duke. But this guy lost the SEC title game and all of a sudden he's stressed out?
Oh well, rant off.

Well, in all fairness to him, Bobby and Joe P. spent the majority of their careers in a different era.
However I do agree with you that he may have a lot of stress, but he's being compensated very well to deal with it. If I made $4M per year, I'd be tempted to hang it up after 5 years or so as well. I don't think I could realistically spend that much money before I died. My wife on the other hand....

Every time I hear one of these sports geeks pissing and whining about his/her stress, it pisses me off!
First and foremost...IT'S A GAME NUMBNUTZ!
Win, lose or draw, nobody is going to die over it.
At 4M/year, he needs to suck it up and deal with it. More people, put up with and have a LOT more stress, more responsibilities and make more critical, life altering, life changing decisions, that a damned college coach.
Take yourself for an instance.
What you do can feasably change a young persons life forever.
And you make how much for it?
Firefighters, LEO's, the military....all risk thier a$$e$ for what?
Of course these are choices we make and we live with the consequences.
In his case, unless his "stress" is truly life threatening (ie: Major illness), then he needs to STFU, suck it up, and as my old D.I. used to say eal wid it!"
But for Gods sake! Quit vascilating, shut up and move on...one way or the other.

Good point Shadow. Let's see, the Clerk at the 7-11 stresses when the coffee pot goes dry at $8.00 p/hr and ole' Urban stresses when he looses at $1925.00 p/hr. It's decision time man-up or move on.
I tell my soon to be 19 year old, a person can create stress in any job, it's a personallity thing.

I agree, and it was a "Look at me" thing to do a week before your biggest game of the year in a bowl game (or at least tied with the SEC game since that was a loss and they are trying to win the last game of the year).

I'm not so sure that Urban Meyer is whining and that's coming from a LSU fan. He does have some health issues that need to be dealt with but since I don't walk in his shoes, I'm unclear as to the seriousness of his health. He definitely loves football and is well compensated.
Stress is handled differently by each of us. Some can roll with the punches better than others. As for me, I hope he considers his family and health first and football second. As Gordon puts it so well, it's just a game, not life and death.

Thanks Mark. And that's what I'm talking about brother.
If he has serious health issues, either make the public aware or don't, but don't cite "stress" as a reason to leave. Make you intentions clear, then follow through. Stop vascilating on the issue.
It has to be health and family first. The rest of this chit is...well....chit....!!

Sounds, to me, like he's trying out to be a politician! Back and forth......can't (or won't) make up his mind.....puting it out in public to see which way the wind is blowing...... He's close.........he's close....... If it was something other than his health as the issue, it would be damn
Andy
