I was heading into the office. I was telecommuting for the state of Florida, and this was the day to come into the office to check with clients. I pulled into the parking lot and thought it kind of odd that quite a few people were hauling TV sets into a state office building.
Of course, I never watch the news or listen to the radio, so I didn't have a clue about what was going on. When I did hear the news, I just told my boss that I felt it best I just head home and stay there. I figured I wanted to be where my guns were......

I was here. A buddy of mine came over and woke me up and said to turn on the news. At first I thought, "I can't be watching the live news, this must be a TV show".  Then it sank in, and I knew America would never be the same again.

I was at work in my office when my wife called and told me a plane crashed into one of the towers. I went into the conference room and turned on the TV just a minute or two before the second plane hit the other tower.

I was in a wooded area in a nearby county collecting the remains of a missing person for FDLE with several of my comrades in arms. We took a water break and went to our vehicles and one of my cohorts turned on his radio. We heard about the first plane hitting the tower and those of us with aviation experience were expressing our doubts about it being an "accident". Later, when we heard about the second plane, our fears were sadly confirmed.

On duty, traveling between the HQ and the training center. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. Everyone ended up in the conference room watching the TV's. What an ugly awakening.
