With the mild Winter we had, I'm really surprised we haven't seen them around here in north Florida yet. Seems to me I recall seeing a few individuals flying around a couple of weeks ago. I know the lightning bugs are coming out now. And bamboo shoots I normally don't see till May have been coming up since the beginning of this month.

And, of course, regardless of the dry spell we've been having here, mosquitoes have bloomed....

Looks like the baby lovebugs are around in my area. Just small singles so far.

Lovebugs seem to be kicking up around here a little bit. Connie said her boss at the seafood market she works at part time took a trip over to Fernadina Beach last week and came back just coated with dead lovebugs on the front of the truck.

I made my trip to Ft. Pierce for the car show (excellent show) last weekend -
one hit on the way over, and three coming back home (North Port).

Now they are flying into my garage to poop on my vette. Leave the garage door closed. I haste the little buggers.
