1995 Coolant

Thanks, first thing Monday, I'm taking mine to flush out the red and in with the GREEN. If a 2003 corvette can tolerated the green why not a 95.

Thanks, GMJUNKIE!

Sorry, I didn't mean to open up a can of worms with this topic.

No man, this is ALL good info we are sharing here. I just recently had that new DeWitts installed and when I read about damage to aluminum, it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.....

Hey, went to visit my local Chevy Dealer in Miami (by Dadeland and U.S. 1) the tech (Stanley) there that (who's been there for about 20 years) said that he has not seen much of a problem with Dex Cool.

He feels that Dex Cool is a supieror coolant. But he did admit that he has seen some radiator caps with significant corrosion, but has never encountered any issues with engine failure or problems due to Dex Cool.

He did agree with GMjunkie's advice that dumping the red and going green would not effect the engine in a negative way.

Incidently, the tech and the parts attendants did not no about the law suit, so I informed them about it.

Hey guys, finally resolved the mystery of my coolant issue. I was looking under my car and saw a glowing green droplet hanging on my front cross bar. That was good and bad. Good, because it gave me confirmation that the coolant my car originally has is in fact the green stuff, bad because whay is that drop there.

I quicly pumped out the red coolant from my reserve tank and refilled it with green. Then took it to a mechanic, put it up on the lifter and sure enough the water pump had a miner leak coming from the bottom.

Replaced pump and fresh coolant and hit the road...

Thank for all your input.
