Here's the dyno sheet from I think the last run Aaron did at the shop...
As for it being perfect, no, it's not that, for certain. There is a very noticeable stumble in the engine between around 1400 and 2000 rpm (plus or minus 10 percent). I hope it can be fixed as it's pretty disconcerting. It feels like the engine is missing like crazy. Perhaps it will work itself out, but somehow I don't think so. Aaron did tell me about it, but I had hoped it wouldn't be as bad as it seems to me. I'll try to drive it some more later on maybe this weekend. Maybe I'm just being hyper sensitive to everything about the car right now.
The new clutch coupled with the lightweight drivetrain components (flywheel, clutch, CF driveshaft) is going to take some getting used to. It feels like there is almost NO torque below 1500 rpm.
Lots of rattles and clanks from the drivetrain and possibly the suspension somewhere. I need to put it on the lift tomorrow to take a look. I do see that one of the pipes for the turbo is peaking out between the plastic wheel shroud and the lip of the wheel well on the right quarter panel. Don't know if that has shifted and causing some of the noise I hear.
The car does feel like it has a LOT of power on tap, but that low RPM stumble makes street driving unnerving. I have to either keep the rpms BELOW that range and feel like there is NO power, or else put it ABOVE that range and have my ears ringing from the roaring. The car is DARN loud. Between that stumbling and the above mentioned low torque feel, moving the car from a dead stop had me worried to death I was going to stall the car in traffic.
Aaron warned me that I have to try to keep the gas tank at least 1/4 filled, as that fuel pump seems to have trouble priming itself if it gets too low. So of course, the fuel gauge died on me half way home. Just flipped to EMPTY and sits there. Go figure...... :banghead: The one gauge I need to really keep my eye on decides to fail.
Oh yeah, and the CHECK ENGINE light is glowing merrily at me. Again, Aaron told me that would happen. It did blink when I first noticed it, but then eventually settled into being solidly ON.
But at least nothing fell off while driving home that I am aware of. Connie would have seen it, as she followed me home in her truck. The engine didn't blow up or die, and no smoke or flames were apparent.
Beyond that, yep, the bill was a bitter pill to have to pay after paying as much as I did to Harwood for all this SUPPOSED to have been done by him.
But the car is back home, at least.
