Fastest response I ever had to a post. All good answers but I will repeat what I already said. I would not accept those heads and I think Xtreme should back you up on that. I would not let anyone convince me they are OK because they're not.
I can't disagree with you, but right now my prime consideration is just getting my car back. World Products has guaranteed those holes will hold up for the life of the engine. Bryan at LME has stated that those holes are acceptable (and they are ultimately responsible for the engine), and Chris will guarantee all labor required as necessary for a year after I take my car back. My car has been in the shop for about three months now. That's quite enough.
Rich, I fully understand your impatience. I have zero patience. Do they know you own this website? First thing I would do is send them a link. Then, when you get no response, post the email address of this guy and ask for forum member support. I think they will reconsider their response.
When you have problems later on they will blame you for it if you don't get this straightened out.
Neat video Rich, and the top end looks awesome!
It would be really cool to get a camera inside the valve cover to get
videos of those rocker arms dancing while the motor is running.
Andy :wavey:
If you made a movie about everything that has happened to you on this upgrade, NO ONE WOULD BELIEVE IT!

I have followed the thread since the begining, I would have not taken the heads, the intake bolt threads are screwed,
I feel for you, you've gone thru a lot.
I bought a shortblock from Jason at Katech, Ls2 Sleeved 427, 4.125 bore, 4.0 stroke, all good quality parts, TFS 225 heads, 92mm Fast ported, small Comp cam 236/240 593 114lsa/110icl, I assembled it with all new parts, oil pan/front and rear covers/valley pan.
I removed the original Ls2 one weekend and installed the 427 the next, had it broken in 4 days, dynoed it after 1500 miles 525rwhp/571rwtq.
I redynoed after 5,000 miles and a lot of tunning and 645rwhp/632rwtq N/A
I have an A6 trans and 3600 stall converter and 342 gears.
My point, if you want something done right, Do It yourself!!
If you can't, hire the best to help you, but in the end you can not do it all yourself, you tried it !!
I have followed the thread since the begining, I would have not taken the heads, the intake bolt threads are screwed, I know they only get 90" of torque, but you bought and paid for great quality parts, you should get what you paid for!! I would have to have new heads and have them redone under warranty due to defect in quality and workmanship.
Your head castings are very poor, my TFS castings are far superior, and machining is supperb.
Good luck, and I hope it all works out.
Phil
Thats great ! Now did you rebuild the entire drivetrain? Did you have to tear your TQ tube down and install a carbon fiber driveshaft? Did you completely change the fuel system in the car? Did you have to clearance all the brackets , engine mounts etc to fit your motor (highly doubtful seeing how you have an LS2 and NOT a warhawk)
Did you have to return your engine/intake because of a mistake a MAJOR manufacturer made?No because again you had a GM block.
And on top of all this did you have 3-4 other projects you were working on that got put behind because of all the stuff going on??
It's like a domino affect one thing goes wrong it all goes wrong...
Point is I do wish Rich's car was the only car in the shop to deal with but as you are well aware of it is not...and that domino affect does indeed affect everything else in house......
This was no small job and it wasnt going to be rushed through and slapped together. Its going to be done right on my part. Rich is there everyday seeing what we are doing and whats going on.
WP I have no control over. I talked to Rich told him what I thought about the holes etc and it was his decision to give the "ok" for accepting them. If he would have said "no" not good enough then the next step would have been taken.
I dont wanna get in a pissing contest with anyone but figured I would throw in my .02 and what else needed to be said
Please don't think that I was badmouthing you, when I said help from a freind
I meant you guy's, I know how much work you guy's put into it and how much you helped and tried to resolve the issues!!
I also know you have to rely on the Vendor/manufacturer and their QC.
Phil
