A different approach to the C3

Thats how my best friends Excursion is set up, I think we need ladders to get in the thing. She got a lady in a convertible (who almost hit us she was so close) She stayed back after that.

I'm looking for an F250-350 crew cab 4x4. Preferably the 99-05 or so. Nothing new and something I can pay for in cash.

Would like the twin turbo version but would settle for the single.

Has to be diesel though. The gassers just don't have the "umph" to do what I want it to do.

Won't be a Daily Driver though.

Need it to pull the rescue airboats, amphibious vehicle and the fixed hull training boats.

...and maybe to bring home my next vette project one day?:D

G

I know what you mean Gordon. You see what I pull. This trailer is 42 foot and 6000 pounds EMPTY! I had a Chevy 2500HD with the 5.7 gasser a few years ago and it struggled pulling my 18 foot trailer with a tractor on it. I went to a Chevy 2500HD 6.5 Turbo Diesel and that was a major improvement, but this F350 7.3 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel has 4.10 gears and is made to pull the heavy stuff.

:thumbsup:Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

We're looking at aquiring a 32' rescue boat (airboat) and trailer to tow it.

That's why I need the rig...

That's a nice 350 you have there BTW:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The reason she has such a big turbo diesel truck is so we can get in and out of the swamp. Nothing will stick that truck! its the reservations best friend.
and we usually tow the ATVs and swamp buggies down there, the truck has no problems

They usually don't:thumbsup:

My landcruiser actually makes a great rock crawler and mud/swamp truck, but it has no payload to speak of and the torque of a gasser compared to the diesel truck, well, there is no comparison.
At least not enough for our needs:(

Thus the need for the BAD (Big Assed Diesel):D

I'm gonna borrow a friends, get in front of Rich on the way to St. Augustine (while he's breaking the new C5 in) and see how much smoke I can really make:rofl1::rofl1:

LOL!! The rev limiter will be restricted on my car, not the speed limiter. 5th or 6th gear at 3500 rpm will still leave that truck WAY BACK in the dust, my friend. :rofl1:

Gordon, how much did you want to spend on a truck? I see some deals from time to time.

Trying to keep it in the 10-15k range.

I see them quite a bit for that, newer body styles (99+) and mileage in the 120's, which as we both know is just the break in period for a diesel:lmao::thumbsup:
