Does any one know of a dealer anywhere in Florida giving big discounts on 08' vettes? I was planning on going out of state, but just wondered if anyone has gotten the 5-6k off msrp that you can get by the corvette forum vendors.:)

I'm not a wheeler and dealer as I seem to fall in love with cars and get bowled over by the car lots, but I would think it's kind of early in the production year to get great deals. I would think you would be able to find a new '07 sitting on a lot that they want to sell and could get a good deal on.

I would call Rick Daniels in Michigan and he can have the vette delivered to a Chevrolet dealer of your choice. Or you could do what I did and go to the museum and drive it home. That's worth every penny and more. Rick will be able to do the deal you are looking for.

Thanks, I just finished E-mailing Rick and the rest of the forum dealers. I will see what their responces are. If they are not willing to deal then I will wait until later in the fall when prices are sure to drop. I already see adds for prices af $4000 off MSRP 3lt coupes by places like Kerbeck. If that is what they advertise then I know they will deal lower.

Check Edmonds auto to get invoice. There are dealers that will sell you at invoice on 08's ,But there out of state but they will ship it to you for $500 drop ship. Also keep in mind that you can strike a deal anyplace in the states and get museum delivery for $500.

The national corvette museum deliv. is probably the way to go. That would be a fun ride home through Tenn., N.C., and Georgia.:dancer01:

deals

Kerbeck has 18-3LT coupes listed for $47,750 and 10 convertibles for $49, 335.. I have been leaning towards going out of state and doing the Museum Delivery also. I believe Kerbeck originally ordered 50 2008's at beginning of production.

Give Tommy, Jr. a call at MacMulkin Chevy in New Hampshire. I got a HECK of a deal from him on the '07.

I would definitely do the museum delivery if you can make the time and trip. The NCM pkg is about 500.00 but will also require a plane ticket to Nashville, hotel room, and rental car to drive to BG. It is still worth the time and energy and this was one of the most memorable trips I've taken. The drive home was a blast!!!!

Don't we pay the sales tax in Florida?

Yes, unless you can figure out some way around it. Personally, from how I read the regulation concerning this fee, I believe I complied with the requirement of paying the sales tax within the state (New Hampshire) where the car was purchased. The fact that the tax was ZERO, is irrelevant. I complied with the letter of the law. My letters to my local representatives concerning this fee I was extorted to pay have gone unanswered, of course.

Gee, I had a thought. Wouldn't it be something if we got enough members on this site to have some political clout within Florida? I mean, heck, a presidential election could be won or lost with a voting block of a couple thousand voters. It actually happened recently. So yeah, we COULD have some pull eventually.... :reddevil:

Try Bruce Glueck Chev. in Jasper, FL. Bruce (or Becky, Sales Mgr) are straight up and will deal as well as anyone I know in FL. Has a good allocation. He will quickly tell you he doesn't like to take used vettes on trade because his used market (in Jasper) is for trucks and bass boats. Good Luck!

I couldn't find the "right" car in Florida in a '07 so I pulled the trigger on an '08at a local dealer (Melbourne) and the best I was able to do was $3K off MSRP. Like others have said...hard to get more this early in the model year unless you go to one of the "national" dealers. But instant gratification....I got mine now.:dancer01:

I think the Chev dealers in South Florida have more vette customers than allotments. That's why they seem to be close to sticker and over in the past.
Haven't been shopping lately but I think you will always save money buying from forum dealers.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I ended up going with EVS in Wisconsin. They offered a better deal than any one else. Though Macmulkin was right on their heels and promised to match. .........:crazy03:
