autocross question

Hey everyone. I never post on here but I've searched and searched and can't find what I'm looking for.

I'm interested in getting into autocrossing. I'm in the S. Florida/Broward/Miami area. The only resource I've been able to find is:

http://www.floridacorvetteracing.com/

I'm just interested in casual events held often with more than just corvettes (so my friends can come too). I really appreciate any help anyone can offer. thank you very much

Not knowing what your friends drive, it's hard to tell where you might fit in best.

I know there are several auto-xer's on here that will likely chime in over time; however, for the time being check the following sites:

www.erscc.com
www.autocrossforum.com
www.rx8club.com
and the Official SCCA website (just google SCCA and you'll get all the related sites.

Just about any of the compact car sites will have an auto-X section as well.

Good luck and happy racing:)

Oh, and :welcome::wavey:aboard!

I just stumbled across the one here in the Tampa Bay area (wedrivefast.com). I'd see if Miami has a racing forum like tampa does (tamparacing.com). They are usually pretty up to date on local racing events. Also go to the local car shows. You'd be amazed how many still run their car after detailing for hours on end. I'd also call some local speed shops as well. I've found out there are quite a few autocrossing events in this area. They don't exactly advertising, so you've got to be in the loop to find them. Good luck, it's certainly a blast!

The nccc web site has a listing of Florida autocross events and clubs that put them on. WE have 1 a month here in north east fl.:peelout 1:

thats for the info. I had seen all those except the rx8 site. I was a bit turned off though because of lack of updates. My buddies drive a G8 gt and 06 GTO. I'm going to keep looking into these clubs and sites. Thanks for the help. :thumbsup:

I came across the "wedrivefast.com" site and am pretty jealous :D I didn't really find an analog for S. FL that is as active. Great idea with the shows. There's a local cruise in I go to pretty often where I'm going to try asking. Thank you!

Oh wow, I've been on the corvette forum and in the vette world for years now and have never heard of the NCCC. No events in S. FL really. Thanks for the lead though, I'll keep watching them.
