My daughter and I went to see this today and wow what a flick. James Cameron the director really knows how to put together a story. Remember he was the director for Titanic about 12 years ago. We saw it in 2D but I would suggest seeing it in 3D because the special effects and fight and flight scenes were incredible. Go see it on the big screen and get the largest box of popcorn. It is a :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good movie, I wish I could do 3D (glasses and 3D glasses don't agree with my eyeballs). If I could, I'd pay $15 to see it again.
 
3-D!!

Star & I went to see it in 2D on Monday. I was really taken with this flick. We saw the "Making of Avatar" on HBO and just had to see it. WELL, I liked it so much I went back yesterday to see it in 3-D. Oh yea!!! I don't have enough command of this language to tell you!!! Go see it. They wack you $9.00 for the 3-D but the glasses are not those red and green paper ones, they are the neat plastic, regular ones. They fit over my regular glasses, no problem. Just go....
 
I had to go back and see this in 3D. It was well worth it. The glasses were very comfotable and distortion free. My wife who doesn't go for sci'fi even enjoyed it.
The director, James Cameron, spent 16-18 hour days for 4.5 years creating this film at a cost of 400 million. So far the movie has generated over 1.5 billion in one month. Not bad return on the investment!! A sequel will be done according to Cameron. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
 
I took my grandson (11 years old) over his Christmas school break. We saw it in 3D IMAX, which I highly recommend to any one that has not seen it yet or want to see it again.
I thought it was a good movie as far as cinematography and special effects, but the story line was easy to see what would happen in the first 15-20 minutes.
 
I took my wife and oldest son last week and we saw it in 3D.
This was the second time my son saw the movie...
the first time he saw it in 2D.
Awesome movie, we really liked it, however my son preferred it in 2D.
This was his first 3D movie though. He said it felt like he had tunnel vision but I think he is nuts....I thought the 3D effects were incredible.
Definetely a must see movie....and I recommend the 3D. :thumbsup:

I remember being thrilled by a guy in a Godzilla suit until I saw Star Wars in the movies, redefined special effects. Avatar has taken this another step forward, fantastic special effects.
The movie was very fast paced, didn't seem to be almost 3 hours long.

Can anyone tell me why a movie that cost $500-million is "borrowing" the roar from the much-denigrated 70's version of KING KONG?!?! Every time I heard KONG wail in AVATAR I cracked up! It may be time to re-evaluate the '76 KONG if huge productions such as AVATAR are going to pay homage to it...
