Bullies at school

I figured I would rant here, My little girl is the tallest in her class, in the whole second and 3rd grade also, But this little boy was picking on her and hitting her, Bingo I found out he is a tenant of my fathers, and that was settled.
Now three more have came along and are pushing her around! I just want to know, why the biggest kid in gets messed with, she is a bookworm and is there to read so Im guessing that is why, But I'm tired of trying to end it.

here is a photo - she has the dark blonde/brown hair She is ducking in this photo to match Eva (they are same age) and she and I wear the same shoe size (my mom is 6'1" for the people that know how short Iam)

Im tring to convince her she needs to push back and not let them step on her, But she is scared. School isnt really helping out, and she just crys all day,Its really sad

Sent you a PM in regards to this matter. LMK if I can help further. This will be resolved.

Well she was shoved down in the hallway and her face planted into her violin, and today she was punched in the mouth extremely hard by the same boy

I've got to go tomorrow and try to get that fixed, Brad, I might need your help if this cant end

PM me your daughter's full name, student number, school she is at and her teacher. I'll see what I can do. This is pissing me off as I am sure it is for you too. Any physical contact should result in a referral and suspension for this kid. No student is allowed to put their hands on another student.

LMK

F- THAT! The physical contact should result in charges being pressed! Get the juvenile delinquent into the system where I'm sure he will spend ALOT of time in the future!

Feck all this referral shit! It's been "handled" or mis-handled, internally long enough. Call the damed Sheriff's Office, see if they have an SRO on property? If not, have a deputy meet you at the school (Hillsborough County School Security can also handle it-they're cops as well), and file the appropriate charges.

Battery, aggravated if there's permanent scarring or an unusual use of force, and go from there.

Referral my ass!! Book 'em Danno!

I took steps for all of that and threatened charges in a nice way this morning,
I just found out that after I left he dad actually cared enough to go down, and I'm sure he gave them HELL
I took her knocked out tooth with me (It was a loose baby tooth) and they are taking it really seriously.
She told Greg in confidence last night that she is getting hit because she wont give out the answers. And some kids are expecting her to do all of their work.

The offer still stands. If' you like to bring her to ne for some very subtle and "non-aggressive" defensive work, I'll be happy to teach her. YOu and greg can come as well. The price is right;)

What concerns me the most about all of this is the lack of supevision on an elementary campus. Also the lack of intervention and action on the child's teacher's part. Many steps could have been taken by the teacher to prevent this from going as far as it has. Proximity control is the always the best deterrent.

My offer still stands for assistance, I know a great many people in the school system. Don't hesitate to PM if you need it.

been there done that...

Like I mentioned earlier, my kids have some training as well. The trouble is (at least in this neck of the woods)...the kid defending themselves is suspended as well!
Case in point..My daughter was going to class and this bully was waiting for her at the door in the hallway. When she went thru and walked past the bully, the bully grabbed her by the back of the hair and started whaling on her. My daughter took a beating for as long as she could (knowing the rules) but then turned the tables (as she was tired of waiting for someone to break it up) and kicked the sh!t out of the kid.
SIDE NOTE: The bully wouldn't stop! My daughter asked the bully to stop several times before she defended herself.

End Result... My daughter was suspended for 3 days.:nonod:

Looking back, What I should have done was follow thru and pressed charges!!!:willy_nilly: But I suppose we were so Dumbfounded and Overwhelmed and Flustered with the school system, that our first thought and main concern was to get our kids the F-Out!!!:yesnod:

The problem is, we can't IDIOT PROOF the school officials:thumbsdown:

The people making the "rules" are hand wringing, no balls, afraid to make a P/C incorrect decision, social worker types:thumbsdown::ack2:

This "Zero Tolerance" policy has gotten waaayyy out of hand:(

I agree that we don't need violence on the school grounds, but suspending a kid for drawing (a picture of) a water gun? Please:rolleyes:

Ray, of course hindsight being 20/20, I know now what I'd have done in your case.

1) Filed criminal charges against the other child.
2) Filed neglect charges against the teacher. (Failure to properly supervise)
3) File a civil suit against the kid, his parents, the teacher and the school system;) (that ought to rattle thier cages for a while:yesnod:)

Unfortunately, this is the only way to bring about change in our system...get into thier pockets.

When it starts to cost them $$$ to defend themselves, they have to pay our settlements (the schools don't have the expendable $$ to properly pay it's teachers in the 1st place), and the teachers reaponsible begin to realize it's up to them to provide for our childrens safety, then and only then will you see written policy change.

In law enforcement, we usually wait until something major occurs, someone gets injured or killed (was personally involved with the changes via injury)
or we get sued, to make policy changes.

How long ago did this happen Ray? You may still be inside the statute:thumbsup:

Rachelle, if this doesn't stop, you need to follow the same advise. I can walk you through the procedure and even hook you up with the right people if necessary.

A child, such as Rays, who waits to defend themselves and begs the attacker to stop, then gets suspended for defending themselves...thats bull!!!
It's rediculous and needs to be addressed.

BTW, Ray, Rachelle, many of the techniques I teach "appear" very non-violent and non-aggressive. It'll stop a punch weilding bully in his/her tracks, and the kid will never break a sweat, never make an aggressive statement and :appear" almost totally submissive. The teacher and the attacker will wonder what happened:rofl1: But he won't do it again;)

We really can't allow these kind of things to continue to occur.

It is not the total answer but when I was growing up, the only way to stop a bully, was to finally just fight. Once he ( they ) knew that you would defend yourself, it stopped.
