When I bought my Z the guy I got it from was a slickster and being a complete Corvette virgin I had no idea that the Z06 I was looking at had stock C5 wheels and tires on it. I just didn't have a clue about it, and he certainly wasn't going to volunteer that info.
First I knew something was up was when I took it into Champion Chevrolet up here to get an oil change and the front turn signals fixed and the vette tech dragged me into the bay to show me the threads showing on the inside edges of the front tires. He then says, "Why in the world did you put those stock C5 wheels on this car?" Eh? Well anyway, I ordered a set up wheels from HouseOfWheels over on the east coast of Florida and along with those wheels I got a set of new center caps. But they are plastic. Being clueless, I have to ask this: Are the genuine GM articles plastic or metal? :shrug01:
I don't know what little things like this bother me sometimes....
