Cold temps coming....

I miss the change of seasons. The cold weather doesn't bother nearly as much as the brutal humidity down here. It's stifling.:ack2:

I'm with you on that! 10PM and it's 25 degrees. They were calling for 22 on channel 6. Channel 27 said 15-20. I'm thinkin channel 27 looks like the winner.

High 30's-low 40's tonight down here...enjoy it while it lasts...they said by Friday it'll be back into the 70's :banghead:

Yeah, just went down to check on the tangerine trees. Got a nice coating of ice all over them, so I shut the water down to just a trickle to keep the ice from getting so think and heavy that it breaks the branches. It was noticeably warmer down there with the water flowing, though...

Tomorrow night is supposed to get pretty cold again as well, with the highs tomorrow only getting to the high 40s. Ok, enough of Winter. I'm ready for Spring!

30 in Tampa

We were at 30 this morning in Tampa. I am sure our Northern Gang saw alot cooler temps.....What was your temps in Northern Florida??
 Jim

It only got down to 24 at my place. I was surprised, it was 25 by 10PM. I left my front sprinkler on, had an icy lawn!

One of the thermometers on the porch is showing a low of 23.4 degrees. The heat pump is making funny noises so I think this is probably not going to be a GOOD day. :banghead:

Sheesh, every time I look at the forecast for tonight's low, it gets lower. Now they are calling for 17 degrees. Got to drip the pipes and run the sprinklers on the tangerines again tonight, it appears....... :banghead:

If I thought they would let me keep my guns there, I would move to Costa Rica. But I'd have to fly them there, because no way Mexico would allow me to drive them through that country. I'd be thrown into jail for a million and a half years........

Did a really blond thing this morning. When I got in my car (the sonata) to drive to work at 0630 I noticed there was no dew on the windshield and no ice to scrape. Great! I thought. So, I'm driving down the street and a neighbor's sprinklers sprays a little water on the front window so I turn on the washer/wipers and BINGO instant frost and I can't see a thing! Of course, I'm driving.....So, I pull over into the Firehouse Sub place and pull out a credit card to scrape off the ice I've so nicely plastered all over the windshield.......Dumb!! :shrug01:

I take you have never lived up north? Or has it been so long ago that you forgot the tricks of winter living? :D I learned the hard way that you don't use the windshield washers on cold mornings. At least not until the car is heated up enough so the defrosters have warmed up the windshield...

Interestingly enough, right around 6:30 pm the temps dropped 12 degrees like a rock, but seems to have stabilized at 31 and holding for the last 3 hours. Forecast is still calling for 17 degrees but the barometer is falling, so that might mean some clouds on the way to help keep it a bit warmer.

When I went down to turn the sprinklers on the tangerine trees one of them was already frozen up, so I'm not sure if the others will warm the air enough for it to come unfrozen or if it will get covered by more ice and be out of the loop for the night.

Did I happen to mention that I'm not real keen on this cold weather crap?

26 degrees this morning with no breeze. Less ice from the sprinklers. It's supposed to warm up to 57. We'll see.

Yeah, got to 25 here. Connie says the tangerine trees are nearly solid ice. I was afraid that the prediction of 17 degrees would be accurate, so I left the sprinklers run all night long.

By next Tuesday, daytime high is supposed to be 80 degrees...... :shrug01:

At least I have the flexibility to be able to head for Key West to stay warm. The only problem is that Key West will only get into the low 70's.

Why is it that 50 is hot in Alaska and damn cold in Florida ?
