Cold temps staying

Low temp hit 22 degrees on the porch overnight. It's "up" to 34 right now, so I guess I can stop the faucets dripping outside. I sure wish there was a huge lateral mountain range at the USA and Canadian border to block those cold air masses that come down on us....

Can you imagine how cold it would be if it wasn't for global warming? :shrug01: :lmao::lmao:

Well they've already tried a claim that global cooling was going to destroy civilization, so I guess the next cry of "WOLF!" will have to be GLOBAL UNCONTROLLABLE TEMPERATURE VARIATIONS!:eek: We are doomed! But trust the government! For just a little bit more of your freedom and tax dollars, they will SAVE us!

It's 37 at this time. Looks like Saturday will be very cold with highs in mid 40's. Guess my truck should make some good numbers on the dyno at Antivenom.

I've got 26.7 degrees on one thermometer on the porch, and 24.5 on another. I checked this lower reading one for the minimum low last night and it got down to 19.6 degrees.

Yeah, I would hate to see how cold it would be without that global warming, Lou.....

When I was growing up near Crescent City we had Orange groves and I don't remember but one time we had to put out those old heat pots. That was back in the 50,s .Now I don't remember even seeing an Orange tree in the area .

Hey guys.........send some of those WARM temps up my way. 34 would feel downright balmy ! :rofl1:
I just hope that all of the "cold temps" that you're experiencing will be gone by the time
Dotty and I get there on the 16th for a long weekend. Realistically, Florida is not/was not
designed to get thru extended periods (2 weeks) of sub-freezing temps. If it keeps up,
I would expect to see a lot more frozen pipes as well as people.
All of the homeless people in northern Florida are probably headed for Key West about now.
If for no other reason, I hope it warms up for them. :yesnod:

Al Gore's latest press release: We must save the world from the pending DRY ICE AGE . If we don't support his effort the world will turn into a dry ice cube!

 P.S. forcast for freezing rain on Friday and snow in Jacksonville on Sunday

I'm hoping out little tangerine grove survives. We last a few the last couple of years from the sudden early freezes we got. When we first established the grove we used to have a HUGE tarp we would cover the trees with. That got old after a couple of years, however.

Tried running the sprinklers on some very cold nights but all that did was to break off a lot of branches of the trees from the weight of the ice.

Well, whatever will be, will be..... Sure will miss those Poncan tangerines, though... Connie has already lost her lemon trees.

Zero tonight, been in single digits at night all week with daytime highs hitting 21. Had 4-6 inches of some sort of white stuff last night with winds up to 35 mph expected tonight. At least Vicki is happy with the snow

Hey Rick! Good to hear from you! Been missing your posts, and wondering when I would see another one.
I'm glad that Vicki is happy with the snow, but I don't think it's all that it's cracked up to be.
Stay warm, and keep posting........

Damn, Rick, I looked at your profile and saw "Bradenton" and almost had a heart attack!!! :ack2:

We just got back from the Gainesville track. It was quite chilly there this morning, I think I fell in love with the camaros heated seats!

They said we might see some snowfall this weekend, That would be nice I havent seen it snow down here since I was a little girl.
Plus I would like to put that in Al Gores pipe:lmao:

I guess I should have updated that after the move.
It's 7 degrees as I type in Washington, Missouri about 45 miles west of the Arch

Must be clouding up tonight. Temps are actually rising over the last few hours. 43.7 right now. But looks like it will drop like a rock again tomorrow night. Looks like the warm up period won't be till Tuesday......

Maybe four more nites of dripping pipes. Hope some of the tangerine trees survive...

Not even expecting to get about 40 degrees today. It's 37.4 right now and S L O W L Y climbing.... Lows expected to be low 20s and high teens till Tuesday night. Highs not expected to even reach 50.

I think I need to go out there and release more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to hurry up that "global warming".

Can you imagine the ribbing that Al Gore is getting right now? :lmao:
