Corvette hits tree in Tampa

The passenger had "serious injuries"...no chit?
The tree encroached into the occupant compartment oh, IDK, what" Two, maybe three feet?

Sounds like another Bollea.....

Inexperienced drivers and powerful cars....bad mix:(

Man! The passenger's lucky to be alive. If he dies, the driver is probably looking at some serious jail time.:nonod: Will people (especially kids) ever learn?

As with most of us, as kids we're invincible.
I hope the passenger is ok.

But look at Bollea.

He got off easy for what he did.

Wow, I just saw the photo. It's hard to believe a passenger survived that even if no longer than to get to the hospital. Not sayen he didn't live as I don't know.

If I was 17 and had a Vette that could have been me. Luckily he didn't hit another car.

If it would have been a C6-3lt the drive could have seen his G Force .

As dumb and stupid this all appears some of us have done just as bad

I don't think the passenger survived even if he was alive during the transport to the hospital. Last paragraph askes for anyone with information to contact the homicide detective. I don't think that is SOP unless a death is involved. Maybe our resident LEO expert can chime in but so sad.

Pinellas Park Traffic Homicide Investigator

Different than a regular "homicide" investigator.

Most agencies that utilize them, use them to work up:

-Homicides (fatal within 90 days).
-Serious injury crashes likely to become fatal within 90 days.
-Hit & Run crashes.
-Any other traffic related crash that the patrol division doesn't clear on scene.

Our agencies AI's, as our Traffic Homicide Investigators were referred to, would respond to any major crash, and were the primary source to determine whether they worked the scene.
In many cases they would work it "preliminarily" as a fatality, then wait for the medical outcome.

In this case, even if the passenger doesn't/didn't die, there could still be criminal chages pending, and there will be a lawsuit....you can bet on that.

I'll guarantee you the sharks are circling as we speak;)

Hope this helps some.

I did a search and on a few forums they said the passenger survived. I did a search for an obituary and didn't find one. I would like to have found more info but I came up empty. I just don't see how he could have survived and if he did I hope he fully recovers.

Dumb luck.

Look at Graziano.
He survived but probably shouldn't have.
It's tough to say, and I don't mean anything mean spoirited by it, but he might have been better off if he hadn't :(
