Sweet lOOkin Z06 Targa Top Madn3ss, i personally take my top off alot.In less than 2 min. the top is off and my bald head is feeling that Florida sunshine smokin:rofl1: During the summer it's hardtop for me.I own the glass but i wait until cooler months for that baby.Just lets to much heat in :reddevil:

This came up ion my "new posts" search so WTH...

I love a vert, but the other half just won't have any part of it! Had a 2000 Z28 vert. She almost refused to ride with the top or windows down!:banghead::banghead:

I've been riding motorcycles most of my life and rode all the time for the Sheriff's Office here. I spent more time outside than inside, and like Ray said, I feel somewhat couped up (pardon the pun) inside a vert with the top up.

If I had vert, I'd get the HT option, but then again, you're back to several minutes putting the thing on and no way to remove it for a short time without storage!

I also love the lines of the FRC including the Z06:thumbsup:, but again, like a few others here, I like the ability to remove the panel and enjoy the wind blowing through me...uh....mustache:rofl1:

The C6 is perfect. Much cheaper to get the "look" of the Z (body panels) and still have a vert or removable top panel, than chop off the top of a perfectly good Z.

My next one will most likely be either a C5 (targa) or the C6 with Z panels...in a targa.

Pros and Cons

Ok as far as looks are concerned the ZO6, Fixed Roof Coupe or FRC is the best looking C5 ever made.

Now from an aerodynamic stand point and having seen the wind tunnel data the coupe is the best design for racing which is why the factory cars are coupes. The ZO6 of FRC has a low pressure area or turbulent air flow behind the rear glass because of the abrupt loss of surface area. The long back glass of the coupe allows the air to flow more freely to the rear of the car. This is what makes that rear wing work so well on the factory cars.

So each have their own good and bad points.

The wing also makes a nice addition to the ZO6/FRC
Here is a pic of our C5R that was in gauge magazine a few years ago with the wing. This car will be at the race track in Starke.

Maybe that's why the new Z06 and the ZR1 share the common reat window with the standard C6 coupes?

I don't know about the coupe but I saw a photo show of a C-5 ZO6 being turned into a vert and they have a mighty beefy roll bar built into the fixed roof.
