Crappy weather....

We only got .30". But at least we are way ahead than we were the last dry Jan's. Already had our normal rainfall for the month.

If you want some more rain, come on up this way. Brings LOTS of buckets..... :ack2:

Don't look now Rich, but here comes some more rain! And at 44* it's pretty nasty. Every day we get different predictions. Every time a different meteorologist comes in at WCTV they re-evaluate it and change the forecast. A lot like politicians.....more of a personal opinion than a forecast. At least it warmed up to 44*, it was 34* at midnight last night.

I saw 31.8* on one of my outside thermometers when I went to bed around 4:30am.

Yeah, the forecasts are just nuts. I saw yesterday's change nearly every hour. At one point the overnight low changed from 37* to 40* when it was already showing 38* on the same display. Then just before the display changed at midnight, the "forecast" changed to 31*. And no rain was predicted, but I could clearly see rain coming on the radar. And yes, we GOT rain.

The National Weather Service has become an absolute farce.

In any event, they are predicting the lows from Tuesday thru Thursday to be in the upper 20s. The daytime highs from 53* to 64*.

Subject to change without notice, of course.

Looks like we are going to be covering some plants every night this week. Lows in the mid to upper 20's.

Connie and I looked at some videos of Belize the other night. The beach areas look really nice, but get away from that into the interior, and it's the pits. A few drive throughs of Belize City looked like a slum lord's worst nightmare. I'm sure I couldn't take my gun collection with us, and I would want to be armed to the teeth just to go grocery shopping.

Then we looked at the Federated States of Micronesia. Nice climate. If you don't mind it raining EVERY DAY from 11am till 7pm.

Guess we'll be staying put..... Obviously things could be a LOT worse than where we are.

Got another 13 inches of snow last night.
I'm REALLY starting to dislike "white"! LOL
Shovel time guys...................
Andy

Yeah, I really REALLY never want to see snow first again for the entire rest of my life.

Forecast changed AGAIN. Now lows supposed to be 25*, 24*, and 24* overnight for tonight, Thursday, and Friday. :ack2:

Yeah, I know Andy. That would be like short sleeve weather for you..... :)

Doesn't look like we are going to crack the 50* line today. Meant to do some things over in the garage (I'm putting in track wall brackets -> http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Secure-Lock-Track-Wall-THD101/202601082) but it's just too chilly in there. Got a small space heater running but it doesn't really help all that much with the air volume in the garage.

Not much incentive to do ANYTHING outside today except cover plants later on before night sets in. Tomorrow is supposed to get a little warmer during the day, though, but not exactly what I consider as being "Florida weather".

Mid twenties ain't my idea of short sleeve weather either! That's just a mite
too chilly for short sleeves. More like sweatshirt weather. Nice and brisk
along with clean smelling..........AHHHHHHHH the "Pleasures" of winter! :rofl1:
It's beginning to look like you need to be in Naples or further south to get
into "Florida weather", Rich! Perhaps a change of scenery is in order for you.
Open the windows of the Vette, point it south, and when you can turn off the
heater............look for another house. That one can be your "snow bird"
residence, and the one in Crawfordville can be the summer retreat!
Andy (white is REALLY beginning to suck!) :wavey:

I doubt I could afford anything near Naples. Prices hadn't dropped THAT much. Plus being retired, I don't have the income I used to to buy another house. Not without selling this place, anyway, which isn't very likely. Got too much invested (in sweat) with all the plants we've put in the ground around here, plus I sure would hate to give up that garage. Maybe if I could find a nice cheap third world country where property values were dirt cheap and in a warm climate, I would consider a move. But from what I have seen so far, "third world" looks a lot further back than you would think. I'm just not ready to go native quite yet and give up all the technological toys I have. Heck, what's the chances of finding parts for a Corvette in an area that has 90 percent unpaved roads? Much less being able to drive the thing anywhere.

I guess I'll just have to hope that the global warming will kick in before we get overrun by the glaciers of the upcoming ice age. In the meantime, when it's too cold to do anything outside, Connie and I will just stay INSIDE. No reason for us to go out if we don't WANT to.

This month is almost a repeat of Jan 2010, just not as cold. Once the upper levels flip flop we will start to warm up. The last 2 winters were very warm, just this is a shock after being warm the last 2 years.

Damn... They are now calling for a low of 21* Friday night/Saturday morning.

And then rain on Monday and Tuesday with another cold blast Wed. and Thurs. Highs in the 40's and lows in the low 20's. It may as well just snow a couple inches.....

Man, you really need to be washing your mouth out with soap talking that kind of language around here! :toetap05:

Good Lord, man! What are you psychic or something? I just looked at the weather radar and I swear that it looks like SNOW heading our way from the west right now. Showing snow in southwestern Alabama right this moment. Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth to wake up to snow on the ground tomorrow morning? :ack2:
