Cypress Garden Vette Show

I heard from people who went to this event last year that when the vette's are brought in from the hotal to Cypress Garden's that the vette's are driven down a dusty road to enter the park. With the breeze and vette's at idle while they wait. Then all the time spent cleaning the cars they are covered in dirt when they enter the park.:ack2:Is there a different way to get in the park or will this happen again?:shrug01::shrug01:

Darlin, tell Rob to keep the duster close!:shrug01:

Classy: I don't know who told you that but it is not true. The road from the hotel to the gate we have to use, is paved. It is along side of another road (also paved) and maybe whomever told you didn't like the normal amount of dust that arrises. To alleviate the problem of sitting too long, we are holding everyone at the hotel and releasing 10 at a time. The only hold up is the picture taking on this road. There is a spot just prior to entering the park that they (the park) has two Southern Belles to take a picture of you and your Vette. This is a "have to" and part of our arrangement with the park. You only have to sit for the pic, you don't have to buy it.

The only problem I can see is having to get up early enough Sunday morning to get in the line after our Saturday nite party!!!

I thought the party is Saturday night and THEN we all go into the Gardens on Sunday morning? :shrug01:

.....same-here..... I'm in North Lakeland, and even-though my '82 is off the road, I will try getting to the event on Sunday.

No problem. We will have a desk set up in the lobby Friday and Saturday. Just stop by and pick up your goodie bag, registration form and wrist band. The wrist band will show that you have signed in and are actually with us and not someone just wandering in off the street. That was our big problem last year of having to sign in everyone before they could enter into the ballroom. It was a real traffic jam. The wrist band should help this problem. Remember, the party is Saturday nite and the show is Sunday.

Pre-Registered only

Remember, this is a pre-registered only show. Park rules. They have guards at the gate and will be checking entrants against a list we will give them.

Ken,
We are planning on going. I still have to do the register thing but we are planning on taking the kids and spending the night. We will see ya there.

Joe B.

Joe are you and Deb making it to the Cypress Gdns show as originally planned?:shrug01: Hope so brother it's been too long.

Ken:thumbsup:

Is there an actual show on Saturday, or is it more like a show-up and hang out and shop the vendors until the party that night? Then the real show on Sunday in the Park?

I hope so because I wasn't planning on heading out on Saturday until around noon or so.

I plan on heading east on SR64 to Zolfo Springs and take US17 N. up to Winter Haven, then over to Cypress Gardens. I think that this route is both scenic and direct.

If anyone from the Sarasota/Bradenton area wants to cruise over together let me know.

See ya there.

Don't forget

Just a reminder that the show is this weekend.Hope to see you all there, and for those who want's to be nonsociable:lmao: and won't be there, you know you can always catch the show in are rerun video:lmao:

This turned out to be a real nice time! A real nice group of vettes in attendance, the weather was SUPER, the park was a lot of fun, and Connie and I got to meet some CFL members for the first time.

The only real "bad" time (relatively speaking) was when a bunch of Corvette people got on one of the roller coasters (the Starliner), and it got hung up right before the return spot. They called in maintenance people while we were stuck sitting in the cars and finally got us to the letoff point so we could get out. They closed down the ride for several hours, so apparently we *broke* the ride..... :lmao: Oh yeah, I tried to take video while on this ride and that didn't work AT ALL! After the first launch to the bottom of the drop off, it was all I could do to HANG ONTO my camera, much less video anything. I was surprised they let me take it onto the ride. After that, I didn't try that stunt again.

All in all, a real great time. Have to do it again next year....
