Well they called the race and all because a ROUSH car was in front !!!!

I dont think I have ever seen them call a race that fast/soon.....

typical political crap :thumbsdown::toetap05:

I agree.. I have waited several hours at Daytona under a rain delay.. They knew clear weather was on its way too..

The weather cleard up later but the track wouldn't have dried enough with the blowers and heaters until at least 11 pm. I think they called it right even though the winner got a real lucky break.
That wreck started by Earnhardt cetainly didn't help things!!
I'll be going to the Vegas race with my brothers and wifes in tow in less than two weeks and I pray the weather will be nice and no snow or cold weather.

Sounds awesome Thor just hope you don't get stuck next to a fat guy with BO and a cigar.:shrug01::shrug01:

NASCAR goes out of it's way to drive fans away. I remember when a 500 mile race started at 1:00 PM, not this 4:00 PM bull.

It don't matter..The fans paid to see a race, and these cars don't turn into pumpkins at midnight. That race used to start at 11:30 a.m.... It should not start at 3:30..
I started going in 1984 and went every year until 1998. The drivers are treated like spoiled movie stars. :itsok: It used to be all about the cars and racing..This is supposed to be the superbowl of Nascar, would they have stopped the NFL superbowl in the 3rd quarter???

If it had gone the full distance my driver might have finished better than eighth .That is unless Jr. had another hissy fit and wiped out a few more .You'd never see Tony pull that stunt .:D

Ya know what frosts me? TV coverage that started at 1400 with the dad-gum race starting an hour and a half later. :shrug01:

Gotta fully agree with ya there!

Reminds me of the old Firecracker race in July.... That one starts in the late afternoon... the 500 should be under way well before noon to ensure a full day to try and get it in. I like Kenseth, I think he is a real down to earth decent guy who is going to be a good 500 champion this year, but its no secret that they were looking to push a favor towards long time owner Jack Roush in these tough times where teams are pulling cars out of competition due to money issues........

NASCAR being afraid of a little rain. What a bunch of girly men. :hehehe:

Other than Top Fuel Dragsters, NASCAR is the only racing that stops for rain. It makes sense for drags to stop due to the obvious traction needs for several thousand horse power to get to the ground, but NASCAR can throw on grooved rain tires just like ALMS, F1, Indy car, and even motorcycle AMA racing does.....

And IIRC they did just that in a Nationwide (or whatever they called it then) race in Canada last year(or the year before)...just smear a little Rain-X on the windshield and they're good to go.

I guess it just goes to show you

$$$$$$$$$$$$ CAN BUY YOU ANYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sports use to be fun to watch but now its all about pleasing the money makers.... and I understand yes their money is needed...but dang

off topic but.... I am of course an FSU fan but we all know FSU has $$$ and Booby Bowden is "god" their.... sometimes I wonder

how in the He$$ we get to some of these bowl games ????!!

We have not been a good football team since like 90's..... I still support them just dont think they should be able to get away with alot of crap that they do...

and Im sure they're not the only team out there like that but they were my example :)
