Who here has been over 140 mph and what car were you driving?

I hit 120 once. Things happen AWFULLY fast. And there are an awful lot of deer and other wildlife crossing the roads around here....

4 years ago going to the Ecklers Reunion show.Buddy of mine was following me over .Well it turn out i ended up following him .This guy had to race every vette that would give him the honors:toetap05: .I was on I-4 chasing them at 140 and could catch them.He has a 89 builted to the max with a 150 NOS shot. After that i let him find his own way there.:hehehe:

That's very cool. I saw this show Vegas Vettes School on The Discovery Channel. I think it was $2,000.00 for the course.
Everyone on the show said they learned a lot from the teachers and had a blast on the track.
Wish I had the cash to thrash a Vette on the track.
Keep us posted when you're going. Maybe others will follow and drink the Kool Aid.

Jim, for $20 I can teach you how to get a speeding ticket. I have many years experience. :ahh: :grd:

140ish (2005 C6)

I had it up to a tad over 150, but failed to snap a pic of it.
I know, it's one of them "fish that got away stories":D

I did however manage to get this picture, which some of ya's have seen before.

Hmm, interesting. My turbos would just be kicking in at that RPM.....

I buried my 57's speedo in 2002 in NV but couldn't bring myself to take my hands off the wheel to snap a pictire.

Here's one from a day or two before that (closest I have proof of):

You know, I've watched videos that appeared that there was a digicam mounted inside the car, somewhere right above the console or so. Does someone make a camera mount for that sort of application? It's way too stable to be simply hand holding the camera.

'99 Z28: 140 mph (began to feel like it was beginning to "float")
'02 SS: 150 mph (still felt solid, remembered kinetic energy varies as square of speed and shut 'er down. )
'07 Z06: 80 mph (still breaking her in and learning to drive stick :D )

I would like to attend a driving school, then perhaps some HPDE's in the Z. The standing mile looks interesting. :reddevil:

To Far in!

A young couple is out carousing one evening in there Corvette. While driving down the highway the guy says to the girl, "If I go 150 miles an hour, will you take off your clothes?"

She agrees and he begins to speed up. When the speedometer hits 150 she starts to strip. When she gets all her clothes off he is so busy staring at her that he drives off the road and flips the car. The girl is thrown clear without a scratch but her clothes and her boyfriend are trapped in the car.

"Go get help.", he pleads.

She replies, "I can't, I'm naked."

He points to his shoe that was thrown clear and says "Cover your privates with that and go get help."

She takes the shoe, covers herself, and runs to the gas station down the road. When she arrives she is frantic and yells to the attendant, "HELP! HELP! My boyfriend's stuck!"

The attendant looks down at the shoe covering her crotch and replies, "I'm sorry Miss. He's too far in." :lmao:
