Eckler's 29th Reunion

Thanks for the reply...........About Ralph and Bobby

Haven't sen Ralph for year's until last year's reunion, but he was tied up with a couple other people.....really did want to speak with him though.
For year's earlier, he and brother Bobby were into hot off shore racing boat's.....but later loved tuna tower fishing 48 ft + Bertrum's.
Bobby got real sick, very bad off. Haven't heard what the out come was though.
I've known them since back in the 70's when they first moved down here.
Competed against them for year's in best and full custom classes.

jcb-njb .....Finally got my regristeration # today

Spiceman and wife have the J6 spot, although according to my notice, is subject to change once all the car's are there.
Oh Well:confused:

If you are asking if the letters correlate to a parking space, then no. The registration letters correlate to class ie, J6 is C6 (if I remember correctly).

In reference to the map, the 200 show vettes entered will be parked as an "H" that is on the sides of the streets A) along the waterfront, B) along the center entrance C) the first incoming side streets. These side streets and the center street (where the show vehicles begin) will be closed off to traffic.

The large white areas behind 3 and J will be spectator traffic. The is also lots of parking at the Stetson campus a short bit off to the left of 3. There is also parking near the park which is off to the right of L.

Who Dunnit?

Alright...after all the wait for the registration packets...there has been more than one who "lost their's". Implying, yes, they did receive it, but they don't have it anymore.

That's alright, no one needs to admit anything, but it is a little humorous nonetheless....

Some of the C5 and C6 classes are very large. One of them (and I think it may be J) has 30!

On the other hand out of the 200 there have been some cancellations, but there is a waiting list of people waiting to register for those cancellations. So, some classes have grown by a few and others have shrunk by a few.... I imagine a lock down may be soon-if it hasn't happened already.

I like Celebration so Im going to try and make it out there with my Time Machine, but I figure this much: If it gets past starting time, Ill just go back to when the show started, but my re-entry might be a little bumpy......:crazy03: Anyways I look foward to seeing some nice Vettes if I can make it.......

I hope to be there, as I am registered, but based on the latest weather report, it sure looks bad for the time I would be leaving to get over there. I am not able to get there on Friday, so my plan was to leave the Tampa Bay area around 6:30-7:00 am. It looks like that is about the time for the storms to start to roll in. If they hold off till say 8 am I'll be ahead of them.

Regardless of the weather, it should still be a great time and we are going. Bringing extra towels for drying. Considering where the event is being held, there should be plenty of shelter for the faint of heart...

A little FYI for those going to the reunion concerning parking

As I'd mentioned before, I know this area where the show car's are being parked.
In the picture of the location area on page 11 that BackYard provided, the Hotel in the lower left of the pic is the Celebration Hotel. (Spiceman renovated the Hotel last year) but across the street also showing some building's and those directly leading north of the Hotel and these building's, behind all of such, is plenty of parking. In fact nearly all shops along the area shown, and directly behind them, are parking lot's.
Therefore close to the show car's out front on the streets, and behind the shops.

By the way, for those of us showing, what class is everyone herein showing?
Myself.,,,,,,,,,,,:yesnod:Modified

Was planning on coming up Fri PM but due to last minute cluster #$%^ at work plus impending weather in that order, will be coming up Sat AM instead...

Good luck my friends. Bring home some trophies and make Corvette Florida proud. I hope the weather will be beautiful and cool for all of you. Unfortunately, I won't be there due to other family events taking precedent. Have a great time. THOR :thumbsup::thumbsup:

A ditto from posting #104, though if you are showing and not arriving early the "behind the shops" parking lots probably won't be available. Also, not all of what appears to be white on the map will be available for parking. Some of those areas Eckler's is utilizing for other things.

The Celebration Staff is handling the parking of the show vettes and I assume they will be directing the spectator traffic, so finding parking shouldn't be a problem.

Hey member's.has anyone heard anything of rain checks

anyone heard what Eckler's will do about rain delay's?
I can tell all of you traveling...I-4 is a miserable place to be on Friday's throughout Orlando Kissimmee area...but especially Disney area plus the Biker weekend.
Traffic is bad enough in dry weather on I-4 Friday's so allow PLENTY of time.
Gotta tell ya ain't real deceided about taking my Mallett out in this weather.
Never been in the rain w/ it.
Another question, is it necesssary to drive the car over for check in and final regristration sign in? Would rather drive it over Saturday after storms pass....but that most likely won't fly with Eckler's.

Not sure about "rain checks"..don't recall anything like that in the past. Not sure how leanient they will be unless there is an extreme circumstance or special issue.
All I know is that the show vehicles can be parked today or between 6:30 and 10 in the morning. The judging begins at 10:45a.m. I would imagine if the weather at Celebration is okay enough for us to go out and begin judging that would be it and anyone that arrives after the judging begins may be out of luck...
There has been several cases in the past where people have shown up 1 hour...or 2 hours after judging has begun and were not allowed to enter. But don't think rain and storms were factors there.
You may want to call Eckler's and see if they have received any feedback about the rain question. I would call and ask those in charge, but they are all over at Celebration right now.
My best suggestion at this point is plan time in to ge there on time. Unless it's lightning and thundering over Celebration at 10:45 things will proceed.

Stupid Question here..... to view the cars at the car show is free correct? No entry fee for visitors? Just wondering.....
