ETHANOL MIX

Did any watch channel 8 last nite in reference to the ethanol mix in older cars, if not go to WWW.WFLA.COM and check out WFLA REPORT on it. :banghead::banghead::banghead: Any ideas GMJUNKIE , the feauture car was an 87 cutlass , also 2 weeks back they had the report on older marines engines.:banghead::banghead:

You want to Know What I think!!:rofl1::rofl1::rofl1:I think it is a Great way to SCREW the Public!!:thumbsup:Mix 10% ethanol with Petroleum and you can Mix another 10-15% water with it,Why wouldn't it corrode the inside of a Carburetor and Metal fuel lines???:thumbsup:Not to mention it's hard on some rubber components!! That's a load of crap. Old cars are going to have these problems anyway. That coverage had all kinds of open ended issues. He'd have to have been using an Ethanol blend for YEARS to "maybe" have these problems. This won't happen in a matter of months...if even at all. I think alot of people are going to get screwed by mechanics saying Ethanol is the problem. It may slightly excellerate the issue in carbs, but the dilution is so small I don't see it doing much more damage than normal wear and tear. People will start making additives like octane boost to say they offset the Ethanol...so buyers beware...it probably won't do a damn thing.

I'm on a quest to find gas stations that still use REAL gas. The only one so far that I have pumped at is Chevron. Not to say all Chevrons carry real gas, but the one by me does.

I drive for a living so I can tell you which ones I've seen all carrying E10. All Racetracs, Hess', BPs, Citgos and Cumberland Farms that I have been to carry this garbage. Chevron and Shell are so far the only ones that I know do not. I haven't had a chance to check out others but when I do, I'll post.

Also found out today, that that E10 garbage is diluted like crazy by your engine and all the extra water gets dumped into your gas filter.

Before anyone spouts off, this was in an outboard Mercury on a boat. My buddy poured out three Solo cups worth of water out of it and NONE of it was saltwater. All was fuel water.

Search Lakeland for good old premium gas with no ethanol and I found it at the PIX Publix in 540A and Lakeland Highlands Rd. So I top it off . The attendant said they have no plans right now to carry any ethanol fuel .:lmao::lmao:

Around here(sarasota-manatee counties), every gas station I have stopped at uses the mixed gas. Bummer.

Since we are in the "information age" , more and more people are informed and are voicing their opinions. Maybe the politicians get it, if they don't, then VOTE them OUT.
