Ethanol itself is SUGAR based. We all know what sugar can do to a gastank, gaslines, etc. Any car not made to FLEXFUEL standards will get screwed. The older the car the quicker the screw job because of it's age.
Yes, Ethanol will corrode it faster because you're accelerating the "normal wear and tear." Not to mention that diluted E10 gas gets crappier gas mileage. I'm on a quest to find gas stations that still use REAL gas. The only one so far that I have pumped at is Chevron. Not to say all Chevrons carry real gas, but the one by me does.
I drive for a living so I can tell you which ones I've seen all carrying E10. All Racetracs, Hess', BPs, Citgos and Cumberland Farms that I have been to carry this garbage. Chevron and Shell are so far the only ones that I know do not. I haven't had a chance to check out others but when I do, I'll post.
