Yea I raced 1/32 scale slot cars, but they are exact replicas of real racers.

Geeze Rick, James Garner car no less.
I wouldn't believe most people would even know James Garner's historical value to racing, to speak nothing of who he even is to begine with.
What I'm saying is that's really digging way back..and to find someone who has a slot car of his racing like.................this is really great.
Met the man year's ago at Daytona and again at Sebring. He had a alot of money invested w/ the Britt's Lotus racing program as well.
Never see any of his L-88's out there in HRS Vintage though. Real Shame.
You do any of the Vintage vette races at Sebring?

I got to know quite a few of the people in those photo's.
The TRACO engine's that are mentioned. That would be Jim Travis, and Frank Coon's. or TRA-CO. Yes, Traco and Guldstrand engineering were in deed next to one another in Culver City.
Dick and his beautiful wife, Willie. Dick one of the most hard working engineer's devoted to Corvette's, and Corvette racing. VERY VERY close friends of Zora and Elfi Duntov.
Garner did alot for the Corvette and although his time as a movie star, like Newman and McQueen he certainly helped the legend along it's path.
The information and the link you've provided was great. The history and the trip down memory Lane for me PRICELESS.

I'm originally from Ohio and started watching road races at a small track "Nelson's Ledges" and of course Mid Ohio. Truman knew how to take care of a venue, even if it didn't have a Red Roof :lmao:
