C5 factory cd player error

it seems everytime it rains, when i go to drive and turn on the cd player, it spits out the cd and gives a error message. after a while it works fine. does this happen to anyone else?

I've heard of that before. Seems the humidity causes moisture on the CD and it gets kicked out. I don't know what the fix is...maybe turn the heat/defrost on and see if warming the CD helps.:shrug01:

Just not too many people take the vette out when it's raining. So a response is probably going to be minimal.
I know when I take my car out, I swear I was taking my boat out. I watched the weather and have dolled radar on my phone.

I get the same thing every once in a while.

Another thing I notice is when I leave the hood up on the car, the clock is wrong the next time I drive the car.

That may be a "sleep mode" that some manufacturers have developed. When you leave certain power accessories on (like the interior lights or hood light) the electrical system shuts down after a period of time to prevent excess battery drain.

My CD player in the Vette will not play burned CD's, only originals. The burned CD's play in all of my other players.

Phil, what year is your Vette? Mine is an '03 and if I leave the hood open eventually the hood light shuts itself off but doesn't affect anything else.
