*************** Warning - Thread Hijack *************************
GSHS class of 64. We were the first class to go a full year in the (then) new school. The class of 63 got half a year in the school before graduating. I actually lived in South Greensburg (or Hufftown for those in the know), but NO ONE knows where that is.
******** Hijack over - we now return you to your previous thread ********

Parents built in Northmont in '61, close to where the 'new' school was to be built, and I never rode a bus to school in my life.
Used to watch one-armed Gary Pedicone play hoops at the Hufftown courts, along with Dave Baird & Bill 'Nemo' Anderson (a relative of yours?)
PRR station in Jeannette burned to the ground in '71, and stations in 'da Lil Burg & Trobe sat in shambles until the mid' 90s, when each had their lower-levels restored and turned into fancy Italian restaurants:
the double-track tunnel West of town was day-lighted in '66 and remains as a deep 'cut', the original single-track tunnel (near Steon Hill) abandoned in '72, and tracks #1 and #4 were removed in the late '70s/early '80s, but Amtrak still stops daily at each station.
The Stillers hold the summer camp at St. Vincents in Latrobe since the Noll era (fiancee's apartment was 2500' from the practice facility as the crow flies), and they routinely hold a scrimmage (usually against the Redskins) in Greensburg each August the last several seasons:
the playing surface at Offutt Field was caving-in on Jack Run, a stream which ran under the field in '75, and that year's team played no home games, and the field was re-fitted with high-tech 'plastic-grass' a few years ago.
I believe Greensburg Salem is one of the very few schools in the nation with over 600+ football victories in their history, and was home to the first pay-for-play football player, Lawson Fiscus.
