Finally Got My Motor Back!

Mr. Blue

New member
Well I FINALLY got to pick up my motor from the builder yesterday @ 10AM, and by 1:30PM it was bolted up to the Turbo 400 and into the tube chassis. Then I went and took some pain pills and fell into bed (I have a very bad back). Now all I have to do is hook everything else up like the blower, headers, hard lines, electrical....you get the idea. Looks like a very Happy New Year ahead.
Sorry I couldn't make the vette drag racing @ SpeedWorld this past weekend as I had hoped. Soon, though. Glenn:dancer01:

Hope you get everything together so you can get it on the street real soon. Awesome looking car!

On the road again...soon

Me too! It's been 6 months. I'm going crazy from G-Force withdrawal. Nothing like being pinned back in your seat big time! Glenn:crazy03:

We missed you at the last Speed World Sunday event, but look forward to seeing you and your 'Blue Heaven' in the future. Man...that blue car is way over the top!!! I feel for ya about the back, mine doesn't like leaning over anything either. Let us know when yer ready to rumble.

With undertaking a project like this, we will 'allow' a one-time forgiveness.....

..... but NO-MORE!!!!!
:NoNo:

We had discussed another Corvette-gathering at OSWD in mid-January, but with it only being 5 weeks away at this point, it is questionable if that will happen:
you'd be welcome to join us the last Sunday in January for a visit to Garlits' Museum (see thread in EVENTS & HAPPENINGS ), and once OSWD posts their schedule for February-on, we will try scheduling another event at the track.

Are you all planning on driving the vettes up together?
I'd love to do that IF i've had enough time to shake the vette down before. Don't forget, I went down in June over an overheating problem, then found two broken pistons. I won't know till it's back together and I get to run it to see if I found the problem.
I've been to Garlit's before and love the place. So much history there.
February sounds more like a reasonable time to try and race the vette. Will need time to make sure it won't fall apart.:rofl1: Glenn

Weather-permitting, I'd suspect it will be an individual-decision whether to take each person's Corvette to Ocala, but if your car isn't ready, hop in something-else and tag-along:
(I am coming from Lakeland-via Orlando, and may bring my daily-driver/4-door instead, just in-case of emergency for some of our group )
'ideally', it'd be nice to get a large group-photo of all the Corvettes in-attendance that day in the parking-lot.

Keep posting so I stay in the loop. I'm going to be away from the site mostly working on my car, but I have instant notification on my e-mail so I'll check when I open it.
We have a very nice Chrysler Crossfire that just loves the open road, so unless it turns out to be a big Vette groupe thing, more than likely we will go in the Crossfire...but then...it HAS been a long time since I've driven the vette!

Glenn..... you have a Private Message, with a link to the thread about the trip to Garlits':
add it to your notification list, and you'll be up-dated!

Glenn, great things take time, so no problemo on missing us. I read your stuff and saw that the machine shop was messing around on getting the stuff done on your motor. Glad you are getting closer (why can't I move as quick as some of you guys) to having it ready. I really can't wait to see your car in person. Hope you'll have it waxed so my drool won't mess up your paint!!! I'll be going to Garlit's too :dancer01: so see you then!

The plan is to meet at the Orlando Speed World Dragway on Sunday, Jan. 14th. Hope you can make it.

Thanks, Has a time been set yet to get together? Since I live further north, I usually go out Rt.44- 17/92- then 100 to 326 to get to Gainesville. Would it be possilbe to hook up elsewhere closer for me?

If you shoot 44 straight over to I-75 you will be just an exit or 2 North of the museum. Maybe the Space Coast Corvette Club will take the Rte 44 instead of the Turnpike. It is a lot more scenic.

However anybody wants to get to Garlits is fine, depending-upon where they are starting-out from:
of-course, it'd be nice if a large convoy could drive and arrive en-masse, but.....
:shrug01:

If you can, please let us know how-many we can expect, as Big Daddy has requested we (I ) let him know how-many will be attending that day:
I believe the basic/general time-table for that day is posted in one of the other threads of this Forum.
