If you’re a collector and your collection outgrows its available space, sometimes you just have to think big.

That’s what local boy Rick Treworgy did when his hobby of 40 years — collecting vintage '50s to early '70s muscle cars — grew large enough to fill four warehouse-style buildings.

He bought an old store from the biggest retailer in the world — Wal-Mart — and now he’s ready to share his world-class collection with the rest of us. He's turning the empty 98,000-square-foot building at 3811 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda, into a museum he's calling Muscle Car City.

Read about his plans in Wednesday's Punta Gorda Herald.
