Well it was bad news for Ken and Carrie today, after driving over an hour to get down to Bradenton to pick up Goldie from Revextreme, they had to head back home without their Vette. A few of us took time out of our day to head over to see the old girl with a new attitude and say hello to some old friends.

When I got there around 11am everyone was already there(as usual), Ken told me that there was still some work to be done, so we decided to go get some lunch. Classy and Backyard Mechanic, Carrie and Ken, C5 Rick and myself headed over to Kerr's Winghouse, had lunch, hung around, hung around some more, then it was after 2pm so we decided to head back to Revextreme. C5Rick had other stuff to do so he headed off and the rest of us headed back to Revextreme.

Unfortunatly for Ken&Carrie, Goldie was still sitting there and not going home today. Bummer.

Ken & Carrie... Thanks for picking up the tab today for lunch and drinks while we were waiting, not to mention your guys gas and time to drive over here only to go home without your Vette. I know today was not a cheap date, my tab alone was over $60 (had I known you were buying....), And you guys were celebrating with the shrimp cocktail and Champange. That was $100 or more. Plus your lunch another $30, Rob and Mary...another $50 or so and Rick, $20 at least.

I hope you get at least your money back for your time and troubles. We all expected that Goldie was going home today. Rob brought his camera, he was going to make a cool video.

When it is road ready, let me know.

Do Not settle for almost done my friend, we have already been there.

Bad day all around not only did Ken & Carrie have to leave Goldie behind, Vicki had bad news for me when I got home.
Well there's always tomorrow and at least that means the Aburndale folks must return, though I doubt they will feel like celebrating.
 
Man, sounds like a disappointing day...... I know Ken and Carrie were looking forward to bringing Goldie back home....
 
I could tell Ken was really dissapointed today when Goldie couldn't go home. They drove over here thinking they were going to drive Goldie home.

Definately not a "homerun day" for the revextreme folks.

I guess the good news is that RevXtreme ain't gonna let it go until it's RIGHT. If you think it's a bummer having to leave Goldie there a little longer, try this ....... breaking down on I-4 and having to get a flatbed.:eek:

Atleast we were able to be with some friends yesterday. I'm sorry your Baby was not done when you were told it would be. It would be different if you lived closer, but I know the trouble you went through to get there and the end result was not what you excepted. I'm sorry my friend for you inconvenice.I feel bad.Maybe the next trip will hopefully pay off for you and Goldie.If there is any thing I can do, just let me know.
 
Update! Have to pull the pass side head back off....#4 is not sealing good and I expect it is the valve not seating properly since there is no smoke to indicate a deeper issue. Rare to see, but after all day that's what I have it narrowed down to so good thing Kap did not wait any longer. It has to be right to leave here so back apart tomorrow....only one side so all should go pretty quick.

I'll update what we find.

Yeah, I kinda saw that coming....

Connie and I probably aren't going to make that show either. Got so many loose ends wrapped around our ankles that we just can't seem to get away as much as we would like.

But in any event, hope you get Goldie back real soon and all the waiting gets proven to be well worth while. :thumbsup:
